75% FPS loss with GTX280 SLi over 8800 SLi

Hey everyone- I'm having a real problem with my new 280's Here is my basic computer set up

1000 Watt Turbo cool.
6800x conroe
P5N32-E SLi Mobo
2 gigs of memeory
vista 32 bit ultimate
2 10,000 RPM raptors
1 360GB HD
2 Optial drives (one unplugged for now)

Problems:

• Will sometimes freeze at booting 'ASUS' screen stays up.
• Age of Conan and WoW have lost a TON of FPS
• My secondary card didn't exactly seat right, but fit in well enough to work when screwed in.

I'm thinking either - PSU, BIOS flash, or a new mobo altogether.

Any ideas?

Have you tried the cards individually yet?

Try to increase PCIE/SATA Voltage to 1.6 - 1.65V in BIOS. Check that both cards runs in at least 8x PCIEx mode by running GPU-Z

Both cards definitely work- I didn't not check the performence of the Non SLi... It still has the boot problem with only one card hooked up.

I will definitely try the voltage- that sounds like a good solution. What do yall think about a bios update?

i've never ever seen a graphics card that needed a voltage adjustment to work correctly out of the box

well when i got two cards i mostly needed higher voltage for PCIE, on NVIDIA or Intel mobo, with different PSUs. When overclocked CPU especially.

The cards came OC'd =D, I'm going home to try it right now

Your motherboard is not something I would use with two high end PCI-E 2.0 cards.

and I can only change the
CPU
FSB
NB
SB

Voltages ... :/

Any other suggestions?

Is there another Mobo with this chipset I could use?

that board sux, if u want to get a juck chipset that will die on u, get the 780i FTW

the 8phase power should make it a lot better, but no matter what u do u wont get a long lasting board
