    upgrading...cooler master cm690 case, corsair hx850, samsung 1tb x 3, optiarc burners x2, gskill 4gb ripjaws, working on the rest again

    Why in the world would they put teeth on the fan blades?

    It looks to me like that would not turn out well if you accidentally got a finger in there while it was running...like a little saw...

    the teeth are for vortex generators ... keeps the air attached to the blade longer to take advantage of the curve of the blade

    There are also a form of these "teeth" on the blades of the Noctua NF-P12 fans. Like the vortex generators that HDCHOPPER mentioned, Noctua refers to theirs as "Vortex Control Notches"
