    4 or 8GB/ddr2 or ddr3???

Not sure if this is the best spot for this question but anyways...
I'm looking at doing a new build and I'm struggling to see and benefit in buying DDR3 at double the prices of DDR2. Is there a substantial enough of a boost to warrant buying DDR3 over DDR2 now?

Second question how much memory should I get? I'm looking at 4GB kits and thinking this is the sweet spot since I can add another 4GB in a month or so.
Problem with the 4GB kits is there aren't and PC2-9600 kits available yet only the new G.Skill PI stuff which is PC2-8800. So I thought if 4GB is all that is really needed I could just grab 2 kits of PC2-9600 memory. Also I hear having more than 2 slots full can limit overclocking, if so how true is this with the Biostar i45?

    Thank You

you can't go ddr3 with the biostar i45. Stick to DDR2... DDR2 1066 should be alright. I'd say 4GB as well. 8GB when it'll give an improvement.

I realize I need a x38 or x48 board for DDR3, I just wanted to know if it was worth switching my order around for it. What would be more advantageous 8GB of fairly fast memory or 4GB of the fastest DDR2 memory is my main question.

I have 4GB of fast DDR2 and it does great for everything I do. Depends on what you do, I guess.
