OCZ CORE SERIES MLC SSD Testing

OCZ Core Series MLC SSD Review

OCZ offers the cheapest MLC SSD in the market as 7/24/2008. It is about half the price of same capacity SLC SSD. This SSD purchased from mwave.com, price after MIR is $270 tax included. Offical SPEC is 64GB MLC SSD with 120-140MB/s read and 84-93MB/s write.
however, since it is MLC SSD, it should be only 60GB. (MLC have 30, 60, 120, 240GB and SLC have 16, 32, 64, 128, or 2^n GB)

    HARDWARE TEST SETUP
    CPU: INTEL QX9650 4.45GHZ 445x10 1.575v
    MOTHERBOARD: ASUS RAMPAGE FORUMLA X48
    MEMORY: GSKILL F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI ----------------- REVIEW
VIDEO CARD: DIAMOND 4870x2 ------------- REVIEW
HDD: OCZ CORE SERIES 64GB MLC SSD
    POWER: TT TOUGH POWER 1200W

    SOFTWARE TEST SETUP
    OS: WINDOWS VISTA 32bit
    Benchmark: ATTO, HDTune 2.5, CrystalDiskMark

MLC is fairly new technology but we've begun harnessing the power and are advancing it. Maybe before you would have been right... Not today's world though.
