    EVGA X58 + XFX GTX295 Quad SLI + 965ES (LN2)

Did some quick testing on this setup today with my 965ES.. I even modded the 295 cards, but I had no real gain in mhz.. I tested with one and two PSU, no difference..

    Setup:

    i7 965ES
    EVGA X58 (really good card)
    XFX GTX 295 x 2
    Corsair 1866 C9 ..
MIST 1000w (tried with two mist 1000w)
    PPindahouse cpu pot

This cpu maxxed at 4830 under P6T from ASUS, but this EVGA board is better.. I bet the cpu can do about 4900Mhz with 1.6v. (It did 4888Mhz in a run before I poured too much LN2..

The vantage run is not good at all, I managed just one run.. (iam rusty..)

I need 2000Mhz ram, or some low latency sticks.. 850 9-9-9-24 that I ran is pathetic.. I ran 8-8-8-24 at the end.

    So, what do you think..?

If you mean the tilt to the left, he has a small peice of insulation stuck between them to open them up for better air flow.

You can see it in the top left picture next to the SLI bridge.

Nice mate Those mems should do 2000mhz C9 easy, both me sets run it stable under 1.65 vdimm. VTT / Vqpi is needed for high speed though. Good luck!

With vQPI/vTT @1.55v you can safely raise the vDIMM to 2v for benching. More voltage to vDIMM may increase stability.

I tried from 1.65 to 1.8v.. no difference in speed..

cold as HELL outside, I froze my hands off

the cards are weird, they wont do 1250Mhz on mem together AND the mods dont seem to scale like I want..

    I tried from 1.08v to 1.24v...

I saw the rivatuner thing.. but it looks difficult..

EVGA has one for evga cards.. I really hope someone makes another one for 295 in general.

edit: I will test with higher uncore later today.. test with air

Nice start, your CPU score is pretty low maybe because poor memory speed. I get similar result with 100 MHz lower CPU speed. Funny how we nordic guys are struggling below 5 GHz with Core i7 and some others are showing +5,2 GHz Vantage results

I think this cpu has 4.9ghz potential.. but yeah.. 5.25Ghz is sick..

btw; you should try the evga card if you have the chance, its better than the asus p6t and rampage 2.

the score is not good, I will do some tweaks later on.. 35k should be no problem with this rig.

my one runs down to -150° but I have no advantage between my -80° cascade and the -150° on LN2
clocks are nearly the same :-(

what BIOS have u used on your tests? I think the best is SZ1C (best 32M Stablity)
but all the others are good for 3D.

    the G by a longshot!

i removed the mods on my gfx now.. and strapped on a corsair 750.. both cards are doing 720 with cold air on them.. cpu is rock solid at 4.83ghz, anything over is jeopardy

another thing, my cpu seems to have NB coldbug.. with Uncore at 4045Mhz the machine hangs at -89C.. with 3200Mhz uncore the cpu holds to a steady -102..... WIERD?!?!

I have some new scores in vantage now.. 35k was easy I will reassemble the mods tomorrow, and test cards with the new 750w psu

36k should be doable with 760/1270 on cards

the 1866C9 have Samsungs HFC0 I think! try to give higher VDimm (1,9 to 2,05)
set the Timings so 8-9-8-20 1T and have some fun

    on my crappy Kingston 2000 CL9 2V I reached 1080 with 8-9-8 1T and 2,05V

NB ColdBug sounds strange! I don't know if my CPU have this because with LN2 I only tested max Validation with low mem and low uncore

    I think Ill order one of these;

    2000Mhz shouldnt be hard

edit: I really dont want to kill the ES cpu, no RMA...

with LN2 the high Voltages are no problem
because the only problem is the Temperature what the CPU puts out...
I running every time on 2V with my Cascade and other guys also
so on benching with LN2 you must have no fear
