    E8400 odd temps?

I bought an E8400 today along with a Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) kit. I'm uising my original Asus Commando just now until I can afford an Asus Rampage, I'd read that in order to use an E8400 in the Commando I should download and flash with the latest 1703 BIOS and manually enter the E8400 settings, this I did while my original E6600 was still fitted, when I fired up Everest Ultimate to check temps it shows CPU temp as 37 Celsius (I guess that's OK) but it also shows Core 1 as 55 Celsius and Core 2 as 45 Celsius ... is this normal?

I'm using an Arctic Freezer 7 cooler just now (will be buying a better cooler later) and its fitted solidly at all 4 posts, used Arctic Silver compound.

So are the temps as shown by Everest Ultimate for CPU 37 Celsius, Core 1 55 Celsius, and Core 2 as 45 Celsius normal? at the moment all I'm doing is downloading and installing Vista updates.

    Thanks.

NO USE REALTEMP, IT IS THE BEST TEMP NOW FOR 45NM PROCESSORS. download it from techpowerup.com I believe everest is telling you coretemps around 15c higher. Realtemp really is the best working utility for all 45nm processors, becuase other temp utilities seem to not bother determinig how to read the temps right after intel stopped releasing info about the 45nm processors relating to temps. There is an article dedicated to how and what realtemp does.

    OK

Real Temp is reporting 31 and 24 Celsius as core temps, I guess the CPU is fine.

    Thanks again.
