I use zip ties and a zip tie gun. I have to cut the tubing off.

Otherwise, it's compressions. I love compressions.

    woooooot :-D

I was browsing around and found this at aquatuning. Pretty much gonna cure Feser fever. Their 7/16" Masterkleer is dirt cheap. :P

    PVC hose 15.9 / 11.1 mm UV-active blue
    PVC hose 15.9 / 11.1 mm UV-active blue (transparent)
    PVC hose 15.9 / 11.1 mm UV-active green
    PVC hose 15.9 / 11.1 mm UV-active red
    15mm (5 / 8 ")

Yeah, but that was without hoseclamps. When I'm doing pressure drop or radiator testing, I'm constantly pulling stuff apart. Hoseclamps have a nasty habity of disforming the tubing, so I've gotten in the habit of not using them. When I use 7/16" ID tubing on the test rigs, I don't have any problems, but when using 1/2" ID, I "HAVE" to at least use some zipties.

When I tested the Thermalright XWB-1 block i ran it up to 24 psi without any clamps at all using 7/16" ID tubing and not a single leak.

That's probably more pumping power than two RD-30s in series..

I can't even get the tiny db-1 (Less than 3psi) to hold pressure on the 1/2" without some sort of clamp...

Even though I'm a flow rate freak, I'll happily take the additional friction loss of 7/16"ID tubing over 1/2" ID tubing anyday...

Well Bitspower is in the process of making 7/16" compression fittings, maybe it will help the market for that tube size.

I saw some generic compression fittings for 7/16" there. But it pretty much have OD size of normal 1/2" barbs. One look like Koolance.

    Nice!
As much as I didn't care to much for the compression fittings initially, they are starting to grow on me. If we could get 7/16"ID x 5/8"OD compression fittings and UV tubing, I'd be all over that..

you can do it lol. It takes lots of hot water, some prestretching and muscling it on but it's doable. I've stretched some onto martin's 5/8" elbows and T's

    XSPC is the name

You'll find it state side very soon as per it's XSPC who are making it:
    http://www.xspc.biz/tubing2.php

It will be made in the same quality as the ½" version, which means it will be very flexiable.

Also worth noting is the Glossy Black version, which I'm personally looking forward seing

Maybe we could all pool up and do a group buy? I know Martin and others have been waiting for 7/16 UV hosing for quite some time.

I'm gonna be changing over to 7/16" when I do re-do the loops on the Phenom and Intel rigs.... wormdrives provide peace of mind for sure, but they aren't attractive. :p

    oooh, exciting.

Surely now there is 7/16" tubing, 7/16" compression fittings aren't really needed - the only reason I would buy 7/16" is because of it's tight fit on a 1/2" barb, not for the extra 1/16" of diameter?

On a normal barb that works, but 7/16" x 5/8" tubing has a 3/32" wall thickness where 1/2" ID x 3/4" ID you have a 1/8" thickness wall.

I just tried it and sure enough, the outer compression ring doesn't even make contact with the tubing, walls are too thin.

You could probably leave the compression inside portion the same, but you'd need to make the outer ring with a smaller ID to work with the thinner walls.

I was also thinking you could make the overall barb smaller to have less conflicts with tight barb spacings, etc.

Wait.. if its 1/2 ID and 3/4 OD doesn't that mean the wall is 1/4??

No, that's the diameter difference. The wall thicknes would be half that or the difference in radius (3/8"-1/4").

WOW! I would have never expected such crappy advice from Aquatuning. Using any other size than what the fitting is specified for is begging for trouble. If you stick 7/16" over a 1/2" barb, what happens?....it expands, meaning the O.D. is no longer 5/8", It's also not 3/4" meaning your risking either cutting the tube or a leak depending on the fitting your using.

Those are either Fester or BP's in the first link and those are Koolance in the second.
