    QX9650 vs LN2 Round One

Had some free time tonite to do a little pre testing of my QX9650 - ups and downs all round

First thing fist chosen rig for tonite is the Asus P5K Premium - running the 204 BIOS for 45nm boost

    Mods
    • Vcore
    • Vdroop
    • VDDR
    • VPLL
    • VNB

    2GB Team Group - X300 - alot of Deltas

First hurdle was a MASSIVE cold bug issue - cpu won't boot lower than -76oC cold bug is at around -90oC which limited my overclocks alot

Good news - the cpu itself is pretty damn good clocked up to 5.8GHz

    Lets get some benching done!

So it's done well on this platform for the limitation of the coldbug - I may try it on a 790i board to see if I can squeeze out anything more as the P5K does not have any GTL controls which should free up the FSB somewhat.

    Stay tuned

Very nice chip there! That coldbug isn't too shabby especially given the performance. I have to fight for 5400MHz with my QX
