Digital Doc 5
I just got my Digital Doc 5 in today, yay. I'm still waiting for my case and motherboard and a few other things though... doh! Anyway, first of all, where do I place the temperature sensor to monitor the chip? A picture would be really helpful. And the other thing is where all should I place the temperature monitors... It's got 8 sensors...

Use one of the flat sensors, Trim plasticcover back to expose tip of sensor. Butt sensor tip up against side of core. If any rubber coating is sitting on cpu trim back so everything will lay flat. Use tape or AS Epoxy to fasten to cpu. I,ll see about getting you a Pic.
-
thanks i had same question about my dd5.... i think cpu, nb, and gpu are what I will be watching most.
-
If I remember right they give you 2 flat sensors, I used 1 for cpu and 1 for gpu. Then 1 reg probe for case temps.
-
guys!
i thought about buying one,
but it doesnt read temps below 0*C, right?
did you try to make it to that?
what happens?
its a priceless thing if you got a phase change system,
but if it doesn't read below zero, its worthless.
-
Ah, so put it under the waterblock and on top of the cpu, but not on the core? And it comes with 8 pieces of tape for the sensors. That shouldn't hurt the cooling any, should it? And I was thinking cpu, nb, gpu, case ambient, and outside case ambient. I'll probably hook all 7 of my fans up to it. I'm putting 3 80mm Enermax Adjustable speed fans as intake, 2 120mm Enermax Adjustable speed fans as exhaust, and 2 120mm Enermax Adjustable speed fans for the Dtek Pro Radiator w/ shrouds. I was reading through the manual... and one thing I'm not sure on. Can I have more than one fan turn on if only one of the sensors gets above a certain level? The way I was reading it, it sounded like if sensor 3 got to a certain level, then I could only make fan 3 turn on... Is that right?

Don,t understand how it not reading below 0c makes it worthless.
-
i meant: worthless for a phase change system, where pretty much all your readings will be below zero.
ne ways, Hardass, do you know if it reads below zero?

The instructions on the cd is what made me think I could only have sensor 3 turn on fan 3... Is that how it is?

No I sure don,t. Have read 3 diff reviews and none give temp range of unit.

Yes sensor 3 is for fan 3, and so on down the line.
-
I got 4 sensors with mine - none are truely flat... they look like the sensor that sits inside the cpu area on the motherboard

Darn, I was thinking of having 3 fans turn on when the case temp reached a certain temp. Oh well. And JB, it should have came with 8 sensors, 2 flat and 6 bulbs.

Svenn, you could do that.
might involve some soldering though.
-
No big deal. Worst case I could put 3 sensors up next to each other...

You can setup 7 fans to turn on at whatever temp you want.

mine wasan't the 8sensor package....

There is a company that sells the flat sensors, but they are expensive. I will look for link.

I meant 3 fans activated by one sensor.

Why?
-
Because I'll be running watercooling but I'll have 3 80mm intake fans in the front. And I was thinking of leaving them off until the ambient case temp got a little higher...

So hook each fan to a seperate sensor and set the temp for all 3 the same. They will all come on when temp hits your setting.

Cpu hookup. This is how I have mine. It works very well.
