Corsair HX1000 whines when PC is off

I think it's the PSU. I just got it today along with a new mobo. I can't really pinpoint if the sound is coming from the PSU or from the mobo but i've searched around and found more people reporting "whining" sounds with some PSU's.

The sound is really annoying. I have to turn the PSU off to make it stop. Any ideas what could be wrong here?

More than likely a Capacitor. Capacitors usually whine if theyre either bedding in or about to blow.

    Good luck

They're closed. I'll just ride it out untill Monday and see what happens. With my luck though, it will probably take out the whole thing.

Got your old psu? Try using that to determine if it is in fact the HX1000.
