Asus Gaming Laptop

Im looking to purchase a gaming/college laptop just called my college and they told me that i can spend no more than $1550 so the only ASUS i can buy are:

Whats good about laptop nowdays is that Intel Core2s are becoming the standard or even X2s on the AMDs which is nice on laptops. My laptop is a Vaio and I've had it for 2 years and I have not reinstalled windows xp on it and its been running solid since, maybe a core solo but still pretty solid. Any of those I've mentioned are pretty good and pretty beefy for a regular laptop. Dunno what kind of games you'll be playing tho. The ones you've mentioned are pretty good as well and I've seen some people even play WoW during class at times lol... The only thing I'm not a fan of are... Dell, Gateway and Alienware (now owned by Dell) laptops. I had some friends who work at best buy and they say those are the ones most returned or serviced for.

If the college is willing to spend that much I would go for the limit .

I like the ASUS G1S-B2 except that it misses a Blue-Ray Drive and that the 8600M GT could have been an 8700M GT, I own the B1 version and none of those two things made it a bad choice. Its a really nice notebook with XP of course.

Build yourself a HTPC mate , better performance, way more upgradable...and prolly cheaper too... and they really are small...
Laptops for me even when advertised as gaming laptops are poor performing super expensive wannabees...
