Need help deciding what rig to build for video editing

Hi, I currently have a E6600 in an Intel Badaxe1 Motherboard with 2GB ram running Windows XP. Im getting lag on my video editing software, and would like to build a new PC, what I want is a new Quad core processor 8GB ram and no overcloking, so if you can point me to a great Motherboard for this I would be grateful. thanks!

what programs do u use, if u have one that will be GPGPU assisted then u would not want the quad but want a 4850 or a 9800gtx, and what u can do now is OC to 3ghz with a 333fsb then test the apps that will show if u have a cpu problem or a memory bandwidth problem

programs like penical and adobe premiere are getting openCL in the fall, and NV has a transcoding pl;uging for CUDA coming out

Ok, something like this for instance:

    DFI LanParty Dark X48-T2RS = 215$
    Intel C2Q Q9550 = 550$
    2 X OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC8500 CL5 kit = 2 X 110$ = 220$
    1 X WD Veloci Raptor 300Gb - 300$
    2 X WD 6400AAKS Raid-0 = 2 X 90$ = 180$
    Sapphire ATi HD4850 - 194$
    Corsair EU-HX1000W Modular - 270$

    1929$ total cost

that ocz plat kit wont hold 1066 with 4 sticks

and this is the gskill link get 2 of them
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166

and for MB is said LT over DK becouse the digital 8 phase pwm is way more stable than anything else that ive used and that will get u no fluctuation and help with power control and let u oc latter, the DK will need a little more voltage and u cant boot from a sata dvd drive while using raid (u need the jmicron controller for sata booting with raid on the intel like the lt/ut)

If he is not going to overclock, which he said he wouldn't, then the 4-phase pwm will do a fine job. If the raid thing is the issue, then he can take the X38 board instead, they cost pretty much the same on newegg.
