    DropBox Beta

Just got an invite for this site/service. Seems pretty cool so far.

Anyway what is THIS... Check out the flash vidjo on the main page:
    https://www.getdropbox.com/

Summary, application that lets you sync through website (2gigs) and any other pc. Clever stuff for pictures etc that only the changed part gets updated. Backup of deleted files and recording of file changes. Simple right click features in windows to share files and make public. Sharing of folders with other people.

Can automatically generate photo galleries too:
    http://www.getdropbox.com/gallery/54...mPics?h=ed9a9e

    It's for WinXP/Vista, OSX Tiger/Leopard only.

I have 5 invites left if anyone wants them. Each invitee *should* get 10 invites once again so would be good if ya come back here when you do with some.

PM me an email address , but spread the love around XS , share and share alike

I met the guys doing DropBox, incredibly intelligent team of MIT undergrad students. They've got big plans for DropBox, get in on it while there are still invites

That looks like a really nice concept.

Unfortunately (or, well, fortunately, but not in this case) my only other PC runs Ubuntu, no dropbox for that one.

Now, it's nice as a gadget, but will it be possible to sync non-dropbox-folder files in the final version? The first thing that pops up in my mind when I see this is to sync Firefox bookmarks on my desktop and laptop.

    ha, found it: http://labs.mozilla.com/2008/06/majo...ent-milestone/

Linux too! Oh well. I'll test this if they bring out a Linux version.

I've been messing with it for a bit and it's really handy. I like having a regular folder to add to and being able to access it from any computer is awesome. I can really see this going places.
