    New to Tec's

    Current specs:

    E8400 @ 4.0ghz + Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
    2x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR2 @ 1068 5-5-5-15
    xfx 8800GTX xXx @ 660 Clock 1061 Mem 1414 Shader + Thermalright HR-03, HR-11
    Xfi Extreme Gamer
Seagate 2x500G Sata HDD + WD 75G Raptor
    Enermax Liberty 620Watt

I have done alot of reading and this is what I have come up with so far to add a tec system to my rig

Will probably get a Silverstone TJ-10 for the room.

So far the build will consist of:

PSU: Meanwell SE-600-24 600W 24V Single Output Switching
    CPU Peltier: 340 Watt Peltier
CPU Waterblock: Wintsch Labs Arctic Web
Relay: Swiftech Pump Relay Switch Kit v3

    Danger Den Water gear:

Pump: DD12V-D5 Pump Variable Speed by Laing
    Rad's: 2xStealth GTS 240 Black Ice
    Tubing: 12ft Tygon 3603 Tubing

Plus various joins, filler port etc Reservoir to be decided.

GPU Waterblock/Peltier: Swiftech MCW60 - Need to sort power as per below question.
    Plus: 340 Watt Peltier

Any comments tips and help much appreciated

NB - I live in New Zealand hence why some links are local to me or US that accept paypal or direct credit card and ship internationally.

    Thanks!

If you plan to fit it all inside, it's going to be very hot, and I think your going to need bigger radiators if you want to do this within any range of sub 40dba.

If you have a cooling question or concern feel free to contact me.

I would grab another raditor, or 2 swiftech mcrw320's instead of the 2 you have, they will be much better at getting rid of the heat from those pelts.

Yea depends on what case I'm using. Becuase I have to import to New Zealand if I didn't want the 2x Rads then I could easely sell them as they are far over priced to buy locally. So no problem there.

    Cheers for your comment though!

If I were doing this, I would use the 340 TEC from ArcticSpider - it is actually more powerful than their '437' TEC. It will also fit into the Swiftech block if you need more GPU cooling. It will run more efficiently at 24V so less load on your water loop.

I think if you use two of those you will be a lot happier - the stock pelt in the MCW60 is a little small for your GPU. You can use any TEC in the ArcticWeb block but the MCW60 will only use 50mm.

The effect of going to the '340' TEC (aside from more cooling) is that you will cut your heat load by 30% or so.

Would it be worth running an independant water loop for the CPU and GPU? 2 pumps a rad each or just leave it as one loop.

If you plan to run both of them tecs then yes 2 loops would be much better. You can get by with one though it will have to have some very loud fans on it.

just a little note but I read jims statement wrong or something.
You cant put the 437w tec on the mcw60 block because the block can only take a 50mm tec and the 437w tec is a 62mm. Also I wouldn't change out the 437w tec for a 340 as Jim said. That is just my 2 cents. You can try it but I don't see you gaining anything not even a full 1c.

Cool, looks like I'll be getting a TJ-10 then haha.. So 2 loops would cool it at a much greater %'age? or is it not much more than one.

It would mean 2 pumps and would you suggest 2 rads per loop or 1 (using 240's)

I agree with littleowl - with one loop, the second TEC will be seeing some hot water. You will get more effective cooling with 2 loops.

I would do 2 full loops. that would be 2 pumps and 2 rad. I would sugest 120.2 for the gpu and a 120.3 for the cpu. and the D5 pumps

you could always make your own waterblock. I love DIY

    Thanks!

There are much better radiators out but the two I linked you to work good.

I buy most all my water cooling stuff from http://www.petrastechshop.com/radiators.html

They are great to deal with and they are also members of this forum.
