which mobo? (Max II Formula, P5Q-Deluxe, X48-DQ6, other)

Hi, I was in the process of upgrading my mobo and was wondering what you all would recommend. If you recommend 'other' then I'd appreciate it if you could specify. budget is $300 CDN.

I was going to answer but I can't stop looking at your avatar!!! The mobo on my sig is great, cheap ($50 bucks cheaper than MIIF) and I get a X48 chipset.

if you not doin crossfire x38-48 is a waste
you want the best get dfi ut p35 its better than any x38 i tested
maximus formula II would be second choice
forget the gigabut x38-48 its crap if you wanna use 2+ satas + cant run 4 stick @ stock
want x48 get dfi or asus

i've seen the tweaktown review of x8/x8 vs x16/x16 crossfire review, but im just wondering if there is much merit in that (mainly b/c, iirc, there was a 4850 in crossfire review that had it performing significantly worse than nVidia's offerings in just about all tests)

Without knowing if you plan to run a dual or a quad, air or other cooling and single gpu or not, its impossible for me to suggest.

As ppl said, x48 asus and dfi are the best, about p45, probably the asus (also the p5q dlx) are great.

oops, i suppose i should add my specs in a signature :P

i intend to use my current Tuniq Tower and maybe upgrading from my Q6700 to QX6850, and looking at possible crossfire in the near future, but my only reason for not picking up the Rampage was the fact that it only had 6 SATA slots. That was the reason why i started to look at gigabyte and DFI offerings.
