Has anyone tried Ballistix 240-pin DIMM, DDR3 PC3-16000 on this board?

Ive just been offered some but dont want to buy if someone already found they not compatible.

2x2gb gtr... thats really nice... if its good GTR!
and if its with a good pcb!... i know the early pcbs were really bad for 2gb gtr sticks and they maxed out at 1750 no matter what voltage or cas

2x2GB G Skill PI 1600 work well they are iffy with the board's default timings though, sometimes (randomly) on reboots with auto you get 54 error and beeping, but when tuned in properly they work well

hmmmm sounds like they arent 100% stable... either the SPD needs tuning or we need to adjust our bios a bit...
could you try the micron D9JNL reference SPD? those sticks are with Micron JNL right?

    I've tested some kits lately...

Crucial Ballistix PC3-16000 CL9 EPP : Ran fine at the specced 9-9-9-28 settings, and they are probably based on Micron D9GTS
G.Skill F3-14400CL8D-2GB PI : Ran fine at the specced 8-8-8-21 settings
CSX (Compustocx) Diablo3-2000-2GB-KIT : Ran fine at 2000MHz with 8-7-6-19 T1 which is specified as the rated speed...

Currently testing a Mushkin 996626 XP3-14400.... I'll keep you guys updated on how that kit runs...

UPDATE : The Mushkin kit is having problems running atleast on the G30 bios without handsetting the timings etc... This kit has been tested on Asus Rampage Extreme, P5E3WS and P5E3 Deluxe motherboards prior to sending so the modules should be fine...

they work fine when xmp is disabled, once you enable xmp it sets them to 7-6-6 (sorry, dont remember rest out of head), but they are rated for 7-7-7 with mp, 1,67v on the nb and watercooling it does solve that stability problem though

After setting the timings by hand the Mushkin kit runs fine, but leaving anything on auto will not let the memory run over 1650MHz or so... I've been too busy torturing the board to setup the watercooling for it... The NB temps are allrite though, even with just the 40mm fan...
The CSX kit really is pretty nice, and it should retail at a decent price when it hits the shelves (around 140€). The Patriot 1800LLK was the most surprising that I've tested... They ran nicely at 8-7-7-18 at 2000MHz and would've done more if I'd just had the time to tweak them some more...

    i test with Apogee GT 2000 (Stock speed 2000 9-8-8-24 2.1v -/+ 0.1v) run all without problem yet, 1800 7-6-5-18 1T clock as well, and run smooth on 2000 9-8-8-22 2.1v

thanks wotcher, why only 1333 though?

EDIT: oh those are elpida chips right?
    try more vdimm and 5-7-5
Elpida chips only need trcd high, cas and trp can go tight, i even had an ES kit that could run almost 1600 5-7-3

1375MHz is a difficult speed to achieve given the FSB: DRAM dividers

As I currently have another dual channel kit in the RMA loop (major fail memtest86+ v2.01 test 8) I'm reluctant to exceed spec voltage of 1.7V and the best I have managed to date within spec from these modules is 1066MHz 6-6-6-18-1N or my present 1333MHz 7-7-7-20-1N

Is it possible you're confusing the Low Latency 7-7-7-20 KHX11000D3LLK2/2G with the Ultra Low Latency 5-7-5-15 KHX11000D3ULK2/2G ?

I have to agree with general consensus of opinion, your personal product support is outstanding to say the least and much appreciated.

    thanks
im not sure, i checked a review of the KHX11000D3LLK2/2G and it seems to be based on elpida, just like the KHX11000D3ULK2/2G.
so the LLk wont oc as good as the ULK i think, but pretty similar
try cas 5-7-5 or even 5-7-3
