Hello
Yesterday me and my friend ICK had a bench session at my home. It was a really good bench session because our first objective was to break 80k on '01 and we thought it couldn't be possible because I had sent my cpu to Orlando (take care of it bro ) and his cpu wasn't good under cold. Another 2 good things were that I wasn't alone (I hate to bench alone :p) and we had lots of fun. You may not know ICK, but he is my friend and he is learning (as we all are) how to bench , he learn fast and I know he will be addicted soon (sorry my friend )
So now let's show what we did...
Setup was,
E8500 Q801A250 (Orlando's cpu)
Asus P5K Vanilla vmodded
2GB Ballistix PC8500 (Thanks Sam)
Sapphire HD2900XT stockcooled
LCPower 700w
1/4HP Single stage built by |RickY|
We think this HD2900XT is not that bad, look

So after discovering the max clocks of the card we started trying to break the 80k barrier that was our first objective. For our surprise on the first run we achieved 83k what was quite impressive comparing the clocks used. As I already said this E8500 isn't that good under cold and we maxed it out at only 4892mhz.
Then after some "tweaking" on LODs and run order we achieved what we think that is very good for a normal and not tweaked windows.

7k more than what we were expecting? not bad huh? new drivers give a very big boost on both LH and Nature (around 100fps on each one ).
After that we ran a AM3 but we were already tired and it is just a normal run, no tweaks or whatever..
Next time we will run more 3D benchies and our objective will be 93/94k with cpu LN2 cooled. If I can get another 2900XT we will try more than 100k of course
Thanks for reading
Best Regards
