thats a cool story... now do it with a real quad core, you know, E0 stepping, maybe the qx9770... measuring a boards overclocking abilities with a q9300 isn't really measuring much since that chip can barely OC already... do it with a q9650 and then i might take what you said seriously...Originally Posted by BulldogPO

I have tested this chip stable at 7x500MHz FSB...
your one of the first i've heard of, i looked at your sig and it shows u got 430x7 on a g33-ds2... i wasn't trying to put down your expertise i just never saw anyone dismiss a motherboard based on q9300... ur your es qx9770 or as i said a new e0 quad, then it'll be a true judge or if anything use a e8600... btw stable to me means nothing with specifics, IE prime95, OCCT, etc. stable means different things to different people... but i do appreciate your input and thank you for sharing your results and opinion, although i disagree to an extent i still respect it, thanks.

You don't need a high-end cpu to judge whether a motherboard is good or not, you need a cpu of which you know it's limits. The cpu clearly can do 500FSB, so being limited to 420-430 on the P45 is related to the motherboard, either the design, bios or user settings

imo low end fsb hungry quads are the best tests of a motherboard's true capabilities; 600fsb has been pushed on so many boards, but how many boards have achieved 540+mhz quad fsb? only one i know of... XD
I'd say the two standards of a good P45 would be 640+ dual fsb and 500+ quad fsb. then it can rest amongst the other p45 kings.
Any newer bioses available for Avenger yet?
7 x 480MHz is now stable with 1.325V Vcore.
2,65 is the highest mem divder thats works with my crucal, sorry cant advise on 2gig sticks only have 1gig sticks at present. the plx chip works well, the following pics are best so far and are just short of what I can score on black Opps.
Will now put a Qx9650 to see how that fairs:

It's lookin good from over here, I think once people get to know this board better (seen 480 Quad FSB already) we will see the 500+ FSB range on the quads. give it time.

Those 'rumours' are true.
Foxconn keeps postponing the release, but eventually, they'll just cancel the boards, just like they did with the Dreadnought (790i).

well after being a diehard wavenger fan for a while they finally lost me...... took way too longs for this board, I went for a DFI UT P45 T3RS instead
Sniipe DoGG hows the Dfi UT P45 T3RS going for you. I was also waiting for the avenger but not anymore just took to long. I also been looking at the DFI LP DK P45-T3RSB plus. But would like to know how its going with your DFI UT P45-T3RS.
doing a bench setup tomorrow, watch for a post in the DFI p45 board thread or maybe a seperate thread all together by monday
