on the G.Skill site they say it's X48 compatible ((click here), and i hope so because i just ordered a pair of these (2x2gb version) ram and got a Rampage Formula. Then if it depends on the mobo brand i don't know. sometimes it happens that they are compatible on a brand mobo with a chipset and it isn't on another brand mobo with same chipset.

So guys there's no way to reach PC2-9600? anyone tried at 2,1volts? I ask because on the 8800 sticks the voltage is 1.8-1.9, the new 9600 got 2.1 voltage. maybe with this tweak it might work.

This is the max those gskill 8800 reach with this board with 0 errors in memtest (8 passes). The system boots and windows load without problems with ram at 1.135mhz but too hot now for testing, tried 1.143mhz but memtest fails in minutes, anything over that speed and won´t post with vmen up to 2,04v.

my kit does 1160 on 1.9v and stay cold to the touch, there def worth 135 buck for 4 gigs of ram

they have some higher binned 9600s coming out for the 1200+ club, from what I have seen is most of us with these are all hitting a wall at 580-590 with them.

What is the maximum amount of voltage these things can handle. I got them running at 1133mhz;1.94v;SRC Enabled;MemOC Charger Enabled; PL9; Light Twister. I am kind of aiming for PL8 with a moderate twister and Static Read Control. Can I pump these thing up to say 2.0v(2.08v in reality on my board)?

:P just let you guys to know 1100 is not same as 1066 one. 1200 is not higher bin of 1100. there are 3 different version of IC. but 1200's IC is going to use on 1100 if it is not able to run 1200. 1100's IC is going to use on 1066 if not running 1100 1.9v. but not other way around

Thanks, from what I have been told my board overvolts .08v on the ram so as long as I keep it at 2.0v or lower in bios then I am not going to kill these sticks?
If I get 1133mhz to run with Static Read Control/MemOC Charger/PL8/Moderate is that pretty decent at under 2.08v? I would like to give these a 5 star review on Newegg since they have been so flexible and allowed me to do a lot with them. 1133mhz is the highest speed I can run at with my divider so I decided to add everything in my bios that would boost performance and was told that my above settings would be the best to use if I could get them stable.

    Ugh.

So basically, don't buy these expecting to OC, since none of these kits will overclock much beyond their rated speeds.

This is why i dislike when companies start heavily binning things at the top.

It results in all the lower end reasonably priced kits being unlikely to overclock much at all, & the higher end ones being stuck close to their rated speeds.

i seen many early redline kits doing 1200mhz n been a few months now they are binning them verry tight now i was expecting pc9600 versions to come as many pc2-8000 kits were hitting 1200mhz
they gonna milk us for the better chips
i did not lose my mind yet to pay the crazy price of 300$ for the 9600 kits i gotta burn 13 sets of d9 before i get desperate

i think you have totally no idea what is that "3 different verison of IC" means

like said there are 3 engines for 300hp, 200hp and 100hp.
even tho 300hp follows their production line, doesn't mean all of them come out will reach 300hp

plus, 100hp is no way to put for 200hp and 200hp can't put for 300hp

but if 300hp somehow can only reach 290hp, it bin to 200hp line
if 200hp can only reach 190, it bin to 100hp.

so you have good chance to get 290hp from 200hp line and 190hp from 100hp line.

that is same way that intel bin they cpu

I realize i'm reading between the lines.

But if binning was like Intel, we'd have the cheapest DDR2-800 5-5-5 G.Skill kits reaching DDR2-1200, which we all know the chances of are basically non-existent.

I'm not saying DDR2-1100 is bad; it's very nice.

But i also realize that at that very high level, the chances of getting DDR2-1200 from that DDR2-1100 kit = very small.
And with the DDR2-1066, well, obviously even smaller.

Anyway, not trying to diss G.Skill; they make good stuff...

because 1066 is not using something that can reach 1200's IC, there is no way to hit 1200.
1100 maybe later if lucky enough to get the IC that is using for 1200.
as far as i know, there are 3 different versions of IC use for 1200, 1100, and 1066 and they are differentq

    Good information.

So they aren't really speed-binned so much as they are IC-binned, & then speed-binned down if necessary.

Should be pretty interesting to start seeing user results all over soon

Got myself one of this kits, should take a week or so to arrive.

We'll see if I have better luck reaching 1200, I highly doubt it as I'm very unlucky with binning.

Hey guys, Is this pretty good for this ram? I can hit PL7/Stronger with my P5Q Deluxe but PL6 does not boot, so I think this is the best I can get here at 1133mhz. I am also running with Static Read Control and the MemOC Charger enabled, 1.98v in bios (2.06 in reality). Maybe I can do something with my timings, any suggestions?

You at 8x450 or 9x400? When I try 8x450 I can not boot with PL7. One thing I have noticed is that the twister does not seem to affect my Everest benchmark at all, I was getting similar results with PL7/Lighter as with PL7/Stronger.
