Yeh if I was going to venture into it I would stick in the cooling/modding area's that dont have massive turnover of gear revisions each month.
Too much risk of dead stock in others. Something I might look into, been looking for a new venture for a while now.
Problem would be target market, I dont know if the sales would cover the overheads with the amount of other resellers in Europe, would people really prefer to have a local reseller or would they prfer the wait times and slightly lower costs.

talking about myself here, but I would clearly prefer if local pc shops would exist (ones that actually stock a good selection of stuff) even if it means a premium in price. sadly decent pc retail stores have gone the way of the dodo in europe and all we have is the big general electronics stuff chains with a insane crappy selection of hardware and the etailers (pay for shipping and wait to get hands on stuff, but cheap and big selection).

from the business point of view its a extreme risk, either you have low number of each item in stock which means people will often buy elsewhere to only pay shipping once or you have plenty per item in stock and then have to carry the full risk of price drops from the manufacturer on your shoulders.
both approaches are risky and margins are about the lowest of any stuff you could ever think about selling.

I ordered 7:am and they shipped it from Norway and the parts arrived here in Stockholm, Sweden today at 9:pm. That's the fastest shipping that any Swedish retailer kan deliver when it comes to comptuer parts. So im a BIG fan! Im gonna go pick them up tomorrow after work. Btw Germany is in the Europen Championship final!!!! (Big fan here)

Newegg should go worldwide. That would be sweet. I'm pretty sure they'd have a monopoly.

used komplett a bit awhile ago but their stock levels on the stuff i wanted were always out and the prices better elsewhere generally.

stick with ebuyer, scan for most stuff now and ocuk only if i have to, a few smaller places are good for wc gear like chilledpc (great personal service at that shop but his range is basically wc only).

yoyotech is ok for me coz i'm in london but i had to RMA a board in there once and their returns guy was about 2/10 for customer service - but they are convenient and their prices are competitive.

i wish newegg would open it's UK store....there was talk about it last year but i haven't heard anything in ages.

Problem is, US based companies have a tough time adhering to our laws and regulations. Walmart had loads of trouble when they bought out ASDA and still have trouble operating here.

Try Sky and all the other companies Rupert Murdoch owns in the UK, hardly illegal.

Sounds like a good move by komplet if they are planning to stay out of the UK Market for just return investment instead of trouble, I wouldn't touch the UK with a barge poll with any kind of investment, they have the worst debt deficit in the EU the average joe has gone absolutely wild in the last 8 years.

Which goes hand in hand with the lowest Unemployment, average earning on par with the states, low inflation and higher than average growth compared with the Average EU country.

All in all, it's good to be British, compared to the rampant socialistic policies, that are ripe in most of the EU (exception of Scandinavians and Dutch ).

BTW, monopolies are not illegal in the UK. Using your monopoly as a leverage is.

Thankfully they haven't left Ireland. They're still a bit slow on the old RMA procedure however.... that reminds me.

I also shop out of pixmania. Very good also.

There is this amazing thing called market competition. Those who do well prosper, make money and take larger portions of the market, those who have a smaller hold get less and less till it becomes a drain on the business.

Komplett had some seriously fierce competition in the UK from the local e-tailers and they have clearly backed out due to their market share which was becomming a black hole.

Haha yeah sure... theirs an amazing thing called an education, it helps, really..., you will actually find when it does turn the corner into real trouble the UK Economy will be the most debt ridden society in the EU.

Good Article even in the mainstream media written today : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/mai.../cndebt128.xml

And Monopolies leveraging is actually quite normal even in PC Britain where everything is dressed up to correct "standards", theirs nothing fierce about UK Competition quite the opposite in normal times, the market comes to a simple fact the money isn't going to be around with the everyday consumers this effects every EU country that a company operates in with the "credit crunch" Global recession "whatever" you would like to call it, the UK Market situation is by far the actual worst in the EU ultimately ending in a Japan style situation this myth of a small little bump within the UK markets is accommodating but not accurate to the degree of the situation its in.

The consumer on average will have bigger priorities as to paying for food, fuel, mortgages - debt & least but not last after all the bells and whistles surviving.

Tony " Trust me " I'd rather not

I work in Zurich, you could say I'm very aware with what goes on with multi national dealings and leveraging it isn't as straight clean cut out as made to be perceived as really going on.

I'm happy not to live in England at the moment, I cannot stomach all the expert knowledge and opinion and cynicism most have in that country towards everyone and everything, theirs barely enough time in the day to even operate as a Human being, Na "mate" no thanks I'd rather have my 2 Hours off for lunch everyday and be around better natured people with a great lifestyle.

    Anyone else tried these:

    http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index.pl

I've ordered a few times from them now and the delivery has always been next day, plus every order you get a small amout of cash back off your next order. Prices seem to compair with ebuyer (who are also cool).
