    Yep, any cooler that fits on the 3870 should fit fine on the 4870. They share the same mounting holes
    Hardwarecanucks has a section in their review where they explain aftermarket cooling solutions, check it out. HR-03gt does very well, the Accelero S1 is probably a few degrees higher in comparison, though half the price.

    I hope so Richard. Every match since the beginning of the Euro has been a complete party, I will be in the core of it tonight and in the final too if we beat the Russians. Even if we lose the party will be long, very long (as always in Spain ). And considering the 4-1 in the first round I think we will play against Germany

    Just recieved 2 pieces of HIS 4850. Haven´t changed to Artic MX2 yet. But idle temps in CCC is around 70-80 degrees.
    Waiting for some new tubing, then i´m going to watercool both cards with Maze5 blocks. Hope it will do great on temps

    dont worry about temps these things are cold as hell...... if the fan on your stock sink was even at 60 percent you would see 50c idles instead of the 70c.. so water you should be well under 30c....

    edit: finally we can make our submissions public now finally on the ORB.. instead of just 3dmark01..

    i didn't have time to read through the whole thread, but when you say that the "700 mhz wall on hd4850 is smashed", you mean that the limit on ccc can go above 700mhz right?

    RBE is working great!

    So far I have achieved 820mhz/1100 on the stock cooler. I used a mixture of bios and pencil mod to get 1.17v idle and 1.33 load

    Once you use RBE to change the fan profile it is actually quite a sufficient cooler.

    And this is how I changed the fan profile in RBE:

    || 2500K @ 5GHz 1 thread, 4.8 2 threads, 4.7 3, 4.6 4 1.284V ||
    || P8P67-M Pro || 8GB @ 2133MHz ||

    BAGZZlash is certainly becoming a hero to us all, awesome work buddy, tell W1zzard we appreciate you guys's work so much

    I am very impressed so far with the progress made this is going to be a great card for ATI and by doing that it forces the competition to push to a higher level and a lower price..

    Excellent stuff there!
    I still get troubles with 2d mod (frequency doesn't change, neither 160/500 nor 500/750). How can I make a smooth fan regulation? I think I'll try the second type of regulation (table).

    Thank you very much

    I haven't used it, but it looks like you can decrease slope if you decrease TMin, Increase TMax and/or increase the Duty Cycle.

    Disable ATI overdrive cause when windows starts up it just changes the frequencies again.
