I'm not familiar with these laptops. If this laptop is 4 years old, does it support an e6600?

I doubt that it is a socket 775, prob a socket 478 so it prob wouldn't even fit.
Or even a Socket M, which is different then the 775 but looks close.
why even bother, take that E6600 and get rid of the celeron you are running.

maybe I HAVE A CRUSH ON THE CELLY!!!

its socket 775, because its a Desktop Processor
That is a massive piece of copper.. its probably 1/4 of the laptops weight which is about 13lbs

I know this because if I took the processor out of the laptop, I could "techically, put it in my desktop "

Desktop P4's also came in S478.

    I have a 3.06ghz P4 from a laptop in my desk.. S479 or something, I cant remember.

Figure out what your socket is, i'll figure out what the 3ghz P4 for laptops is i've got.

If you look at the pic, it's obvious that it's a s775 desktop chip (there are no s775 laptop chips).

cirthix - good point, the retention mechanism gives it away.

Clevo D900 is the base that it is rebranded from iirc, just check around for what version your board is then google it to see if it has Conroe/Core 2 Duo support.

its a D900T, on the top of my head its supports 3.8ghz P4 probably the highest

so what happens if it doesn't support it, just won't boot or what?

I doubt it even supports dual cores so yeah :/
