    Geil Ultra Plus PC2-9280 suggestions

I managed to score one of these kits (GX22GB9280PDC) off ebay recently for under $100. Apparently these are some really high-binned D9GCT sticks, and I'm wondering realistically how far I might be able to push them on my Asus P5K-E/WiFi and G0 Q6600 (VID is 1.3125 ), or my P5B-Deluxe and E6300. Currently I'm running them on the P35 board with the Quad at 400x8 and the RAM at 1066 4-4-4-12 2.45V which is the max warrantied voltage. I'd like to get them up to 1200+ CAS5 but haven't had much success and am open for suggestions

Sure it's D9Gct and not GMH or Gkx?

Well, all of the online ram IC lists identify them as GCT, so I was going by those. At any rate, they're some pretty darned good Micron RevD chips if they can do CAS4 at 1160MHz eh? That voltage scares me though.

It looks like I was right to fear that voltage! I came home yesterday to a nice BSOD on my P5K-E Vista box, and every subsequent boot thereafter crashed. I ran memtest and there was so much red you'd have thought I'd ruptured an artery or something. One of the sticks refuses to work at the stock settings now. RMA time

Well, I got my replacement kit from Geil last weekend (BTW, how is it that a company shipping from Taiwan managed to replace my kits already, when Corsair STILL hasn't and I sent the dead Dominators to them earlier??). I'm not so sure I want to run 2.45V through these, so I may have to give up on high CAS4 clocks. They seem fine at 600MHz CAS5 with 2.3V or so.

D9GCT operate at a little bit more vdimm. Not so low-vdimm addicted like D9GMH.

Well, these actually are D9GMH. I just popped the heat spreader off one of the sticks. r00n, another one to add to the Ramlist!

Nice find, that would be some super high binned D9GCT to do 1160 CAS 4, GMH would have a much easier time of it, although that is some serious voltage for 24/7 use. I'd see what they can do under 2.2v and not go above that for 24/7, I actually stay around the 2.0 - 2.06v range for 24/7.

I have em running at 600MHz CAS5 with BIOS set to 2.10V thanks to your encouragement over at i4memory (I'm GenAn there).
