Heres my log. Running stock core, then at 42% I put the GPU from stock 670 to 800. Hardly any diff on my rig.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying what happened in my case. Maybe I'll do some more testing. I could be wrong.

1 sec per percent...that 100 sec per WU...that adds up. I thought that shader speed icreases had the largest affect on GPU folding. I read that somewhere on the folding forum at stanford.

It goes shader > gpu core > ram in terms of how much an over clock helps.

    Okay, got 177.35 working...

    setup:
    phenom 9500 @ 2.42 / XP SP2 / 8600GTS

    Went up to 850 / 1914 / 1000Mhz = 37/sec frame
next, tried 802 / 1952 / 1000 got 36 sec/frame. Should come out to around 2,352ppd. (less though because there was an occasional 37 second thrown in)

IIRC, this is about 3X what I was getting on a X1950XT 512mb.

Ok, nice results coming from everyone!

But, anyone who's having problems, can you please post with your Card, Drivers, And what doesn't work / where things go astray. Let's try to get everyone folding before the next client update.

Yeah try those ones from LaptopVideo2Go, They seem to be working better for V32.

It'll be here once they've fixed it:
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=19155

Otherwise you can do it yourself, Here is a tutorial on how to do it for Quadro to Geforce, You basically have to do the same thing.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=253667

I'm going to make a modded Vista 64 INF for myself later tonight, If Its not too much trouble I'll do the rest as well.

EDIT: Actually, I wont, Only because I forgot I'd have to edit them for every video card anyone here wants to use... So it would take allot longer. LV2Go should have theirs done within a day.

Anyone else who needs a Vista x64 177.39 driver for an 8800GT, I'll have the modded INF soon

EDIT #2: Hmm... Thus far all the 177.39 files ive downloaded are corrupted. Anyone else?

EDIT #3: seems it was just the Vista x64 distro. I found a working one on OCAU, I'll upload it so they don't lose their mirror.

EDIT #4 : Nevermind... I'm going to have to wait, I tried modding the file but it didnt work. I'll just wait a day or two.

Got it working, Used this INF:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/123943878/nv_disp.inf.html

Also, most of the 177.39 drivers out there are corrupted. Here's the one I used, its good. Link may go down after awhile:

    http://roflbox.net/OCAU/nvidia_fw_17...ta64_fixed.zip

I'll wait a few minutes to see if it's any faster then 177.35

EDIT: It is a little faster, 15-16 seconds per frame now, One second faster.

I have affinity set so that SMP runs on 3 cores and GPU runs on the other core.

I should be getting +10000 PPD by tomorrow because of the PS3 and a few other computers.

I could not get any other NVIDIA driver to install properly with this card. I was very happy to see 177.39 install and FOlding start to work properly.

Why 32-bit with 4GB Is 64 a PITA right now?

just thought i'd vouch for how effective overclocking your shaders is versus core or memory is..

    changes on my 88gt:
    core clock = 685 (from 710)
    shader clock= 1900 (from 1800)
    memory = 950 (remains unchanged)
result? my ppd went from 5292 to 5644!

doing stability test with 1900 for a day, might go for 2000 shader and bring my core down to 600 or 650 if no errors occur

i think i fixed mine. i was receiving the UNSTABLE_MACHINE error and now all its saying is "attempting to get work packet."

over at the FAH forums they say the server is down so ill wait it out.

anyways i had to uninstall the client and delete the directory in my C:\Users\"computer name"\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu folder, then resinstall.

hope this helps anyone experiencing the same problem.

    http://fah-web.stanford.edu/serverstat.html
But last time I said the wrong server ip. The nvidia server is:
    171.64.65.20
Yes it is down, it's saying "reject" under the connection status. =/

You think it's going to be faster than 174.55? Because the 174.55 works fine with my XP x64, close to 5000 PPD while running WCG on a G80 8800 GTS 640.

Maybe, but Im only getting 3200ppd with my 8800GT and thats not right. Maybe im CPU bottlenecked? (PD820... )

You probably are. My 8800 fully utilizes one core of my Quad at 3,5Ghz, considering one core of your Pentium D is at least 3 times slower it makes sense.
