I don't see any 4870s here and not to mention 2 4870s will cost about the same as 1 280 so what is your point?

880fps isnt too shabby for Ati in nature, curious if its with or without LOD.

Wow 2 - 180.00$ cards are faster then 3 - 600.00$ cards in 06.No wonder most of the guys were only running vantage, lol .

All benchmarks above 5 ghz were done with lod +3. All others tests (4 ghz and following 3 ghz) are done with stock gfx clocks and stock quality settings.

Nice little cards, great bang for your buck. Wondering what the 4870's will do.

Shrugs, the score is almost the same as my 2900XTs in CF with a 4ghz qx9650. Less than 10% difference.

The gt3 score in 06 is about the same as what two watercooled voltmodded 2900 would do. So I say this is extremly good for two stock clocked cards.

What will be interesting is to see how these cards do in Vantage. How the change in the microarchitecure and new driers will improve performance.

We just added some singlecard-scores with 4 ghz.

Maybe we can try some vantage tests tomorrow, but unfortunately only at 4 ghz.

    Edit:

During the last months we could run 3870, 2900 xt and 4850 in cf each with nearly the same cpu-clock. Thats for comparison:

3870 cf (vgpu, watercooled): 26,064 points
2900 xt cf (vgpu, watercooled): 26,874 points
4850 cf (no vgpu, stock cooled): 26,939 points

4850 does a very good job compared to the other setups.

You see we 're talking about a stock cooled VGA here ... I don't think that you can achieve that high scores with you XTs @ stock cooling ... Even if you 've done some mods, like EXPANDER's vampire 2900XT mod (880/990) or hipro's mods (880/990) both on stock cooling, no luck when it comes to compare with the 4850

Oh, and one more thing ... When first CF4850 moded @ w/c results come out, I bet that you will change the first digit in that percentage to 3 ... maybe higher ...

Now loc.o imagine having these cards running 3D 01 in proper test sequence with ideal LOD values ... It's party time baby !
But still, they eat dust from nVidia way too easy in 01
