I say one should post all scores if possible. Thing is, hardly anyone has the res to run X, so it likely cant be that.

I voted Performance though since that is what is 'default'.

Thats some valid points there, I agree, run perf as thats the default setting, it would be nice with all scores from those who can though

I agree, should use all, but Performance is the default and everyone should be able to run that. High and Extreme will be useful though, especially once Performance starts to get system limited like 3D Mark 06.

Unfortunately obly got a 1680 x 1050 20" LCD screen so can't do an X test... and I havn't run the Entry test, don't see the point in it TBH...

Havn't got a SS of the H score at the moment only got a compare url for that, but got a SS of the P score:

    AMD Phenom 9850 @ 2.9GHz

    Vista HP 64-bit

What do others think... Entry as well...?????

PS: the High preset was run at 2.8Ghz on the CPU, everything else same.

Yes thats what I thought.... it shows how much less CPU weighted vantage is compared to 3dm06...

More of the overall score is GPU dependent as it should be for a gaming benchmark... IMO..!!

Thats a very nice score, from what I've seen so far 48xx series scales really well with Crossfire, so I think with another 4870 at those clocks, you'd be in the 12-13K+ range for P Score and maybe 9K+ H Score... ???

Hope we see more scores soon...!!!

I understood. I just commented that even though I might hit higher scores, I won't be installing another HD4870 (unless someone gives me one for free )

Can't wait for 3- and 4-way HD4 series results, hope someone has some results to share.

I am still refusing to buy Vantage. Do you guys actually like it?
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.
