And it sure as hell is not clocked at 1ghz +
    shouldn't that 3870 x2 be 4 ?

    4 what?

Its still only 2 flops per unit, it all checks out

    1.056 Teraflops = 2 GPUs X 320 Shaders X 2 flops per unit X 825mhz

Im actualy kinda upset they got these cards out so quick...It was only a couple months ago I bought my hd3870x2's and hd3870's. What cruel marketing!!!!!
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

Buyer's remorse goes hand in hand with being a PC enthusiast

The 3870X2 is still a b1tchin card though! It will beat the 4850 and probably the 4870 in games that are optimized for CF

I have sitting here 2 3870X2's and a 3650 256MB as well as the 4850, I don't regret any, they will all sell to friends local or on the forums, making the cost of upgrading go down. the 3870X2's are monsters, they will be "current cards" for some time to come.

Yeah the 3870X2 somehow got a bad rep (probably lackluster scores in initial previews due to poor drivers) But they perform great now and are priced very well, especially used! I saw one go for 180 euro recently when they were still 320 euro + at retail, I was tempted but I have to hold off until I see the GTX260 results and the 4850/4870 results

The 3dmark benchmarks are nice, this is really a very good result for such a cheap grafikcard.

But Crysis Benchmark with AA would be far more interessting.
Hope you can make it run soon.

1280x1024 and 1920x1200 with AA and very high settings.
I'm excited if the 512MB VRAM will slow the card down on very high settings in crysis.

If the 4870 is really 30% faster than this one, it comes pretty close to the GTX280, and this would be a disaster for Nvidia. (If the 4870 will cost around 350$)

And if ATI has a X2 version in their pipeline, waiting to be introduced in the next months, they have won the game, at least for this year.

Wow look at the minimal perfomance hit no AA vs 4xAA in COJ. 3800 had the same behaviour? I've never played COJ
