Kai, what cpu speed just to make it even?
Thanks to all for the great responses. The vista crysis fail may be fixed, a reader at TPU has a work around, I will try it tonight. I am also desperatly in need of some tool which can oc this beast beyond CCC limits. if any coders out there can get one working I would appreciate it, just PM me so I see it quick. I can provide bios dumps etc.

To be honest, performance is a little bit disappointing, my OC'ed 8800GS can do almost the same.
Okay, maybe OC-potencial is great, drivers will be improved and so on, but that's definetively no real big-time. (Doesn't mean I don't want to play with them )

[QUOTE=GoldenTiger;3060286]I'm hearing $299 for the 512 and $329-349 for the 1GB around the various forums... sounds reasonable to me. The memory's expensive but not so expensive it will boost the price obscenely.
Think ill just hang in there and wait tell they go down to 150$ in six months. Heck maybe even three the way things are.

Nice, I think the GDDR5 would help a lot but I'm going for 2x 4850s myself.
Current setup does this, compare to 24FPS average for ONE 4850, while this is 8800GT 512 SLI:
4850 = nice! So, will we be able to use atitool/rivatuner/etc. to overclock crossfire 4850s, or gonna have to wait for BIOS flashes for CCC again?
So, basically, 4850 has better score in 1680x1050 on crysis high than 8800GT SLI?
model of the monitor used?? AOC 416-VA Monitor LCD 24" Widescreen max resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz .

This is awasome I am looking forward to 4870 review
I'm wondering if my 8800GT will be pwned by the 4850....it probably will, but by how much will determine if i get one

3870 has only 64 SP which are capable of 5 operations per cycle = 320. Does 4870 have 160 SP ? Oh yeah, and 3870 has only 16 TF/TMU, same as X1900 or X2900 - what about this one?
