    Question

that is the latest on the foxconn site.

Has anyone gotten the P14 bios to actually flash? I just put together my Destroyer with a new Phenom II 940 and the P12 bios reports unknown CPU and a dangerous overclocking condition that the bios automatically changed to defaults during POST (I think it does this when I turn on C1E support and SPD enabled ram).

Anyway, I load up the flash program and the proper flash file off a bootable CD and it says Please Wait! and just sits there forever (longest time is 30 minutes). I reboot and the bios was not flashed and is still P12.

I tried forcing the bios to use bios 1 with the jumper but that did not change anything. The bios write protect is not enabled either.

Anyone know what the problem could be? I am going to install Windows XP on it (cause I can't get Windows Beta 7 installed on it either - keeps saying bad boot disk or something after it installs) and see if I can update the bios through windows.

Saaya and FOXCONN know this issue and they are working on that. Saaya sent me a new beta bios and I will try it in a few days. Maybe it works with this version, let's wait and see.
so MusicIsMyLife, did you try it?

EDIT: well, odd.. on the china foxconn site i found the P14.. but not on the Global site.. weak...

EDIT2: Well flashing this P14, makes the board NOT want to use my 940 BE.. i just get a "BEEEP" then nothing more.. installing my 5400 be systems boots and works as usual..

it should be up on the global site.
I just went to http://www.foxconnchannel.com went to support -> Downloads then searched for destroyer downloads using "Search by Product Model" not that I had to because it was in the "newest downloads" section.

    says version 79CF1P14.

its weird the 940 is not working now. the BIOS just added AM3 support as far as I can tell.

I tryed searching for it. And alas no P14 just the "BIOS File Destroyer Solved 1T/2T item function fail. 79CF1P13 688KB 11/25/2008"

Tryed to flash the P14 several times, all with succsess. But i get BEEEEP with the 940 installed.. Chaning BIOS to chip two, board boots with the 940 installed, think its P11 that the board came with....

Do it fellas! I've been putting off pushing this board any further untill i get all my WC set-up in. But I need to push it a little farther and see what I can get out of it with all this cool air we have been getting here. I'm thinking when I get my WC setup in, it would be fun to run a temporary loop with my radiator in the window suckin up all that cool air.

I'm glad you got it figured out, but its odd that the ram now doesn't work. I wonder what they changed to make the ram not function right?

i got this from tech support a few days ago.

Thank you for supporting Foxconn products
We will test this bios with 940BE, since before the test department didn't test the new release processor.
any update, please keep the eyes on the websites.

Unfortunately I have to say no.

I was busy reviewing AMDs AM3 and now I have to write some articles for a german print magazin.

I hope to test it next week (of course with am3-cpu ).

    Noob question

Hello all, I just purchased the Foxconn Destroyer with the Phenom II 940, and 2x2Gb OCZ Reaper PC2-8500. My question is will this system boot with the BIOS that comes on the MB stock? I really hope that there is a way to get this up and running stock, then flash BIOS in windows?!?! I am not very profecient on "BIOS Flashing". Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I currently have a DFI Expert (s939) that uses a similar AWARD BIOS, and was able to flash the BIOS using something called winflash. Is the process similar?

if you download FoxLiveUpdate, it'll look for updates for your bios and update them easily, it's actually one of the easiest boards i've come across to update the bios with

thanks for the reply. What I am trying to ask is, will the 940 work in the destroyer "out of the box"? Do i have to buy a cheap am2 cpu to install into the MB to be able to update the BIOS for the 940?
