The drivers are all there on the Asus site or better still get latest from the actual vendors : i.e. Intel Chipset+Storage drivers from Intel and Marvel NIC drivers from Marvel as they are normally newer!

The CD's are out of date by time you buy the Mobo!

Thanks very much for the link! You know, I used the search function at the ASUS site to look for Maximus II Formula drivers and it kept returning "0 items found". My attempts to navigate to specific drivers was also a trip down an endless rabbit hole. Then again, my wife can find anything I'm looking for in my own closet when I can't. Thanks again for the help!

    Nice mobo!

Hey guys, since you have all moved to more modern technologies I take it you are more than familiar with the motherboard. I have had this baby for a long time (cannot usually afford to change hardware regularly, especially now with college) and I was getting the idea of devoting some time to play with it. However, the bios settings give me a headache and I really want to learn how things fit together. I had done some reading in the past but after entering college I sort of let it go. Now I want back in. Any pointers on how to get a stable overclock for my old favourite system? Tell me what info you need and if this is the right posting place (if not please provide a link or transfer the post). Thank you.

you must have not had much mobos in 775 days.. worst board is easily any of the nvidia chipsets. (asus striker II extreme, couldnt get any sort of overclock stable on top of needing the whole mess to be watercooled to be able to do anything)

id say its second best only bested by giga board(as it can go higher fsb but id say thats about it.).. and being that ive traded boards a few times and still use 775 its still pretty fresh

(with quadcore and 4 sticks of ram)

"stable" is really based on what ram/cpu/etc etc its so based on everything other than the main parts, ive taken tons of "tutorials" cant get any of that nonsence stable, trial and error is the way overclocking is done. especially if you dont use the best hardware of the day to find exact tutorial, so much changes with so little differances in hardware

google around your hardware and use that as a starting point, but even if you found exact hardware i doubt you could get stable with the same exact settings.

holy thread necro tho im glad to see that im not the only one overclocking this board still
