Yah, some bootable CD's work fine, other's dont. I don't understand it, the ones that don't boot on this board boot fine on other boards I have.

I was reading a thread on here with people having similar problems with the P5W DH Deluxe, Where if you have both the Intel Raid bootrom, and Marvell bootrom enabled this happens. I'm using the intel raid ports so I can't disable and swap to the marvell to see if it works, and if i disable the marvell the CDROM drive disappaers totally.

I'm guessing my IDE CDROM has some sort of compatability issue with this board it is a LITE-ON SHM-165P6S... anyone able to recommend a drive that they know functions 100% correctly and has a black bezel?

    Yes!!!
My Q6600's needed about 1.34v to run @ 9x400 on MF1. Here, for the same parameters, it need 1.30v. Rock stable .
Really nice with 8x450 Cas4 too, same Vcore

This is how it looks whithout the original NB atachment, as you can see you can put any air cooler like thermalright, or any waterblock that is the size of the copper base on the center of heatspreder.

    Really nice board
Easy with e8xxx, strange with X3350 (but 4Ghz inside), not so easy with Q6600 (I need more tests to break 9x470, but I'll do it)
Some stuffs are hard to understand in the bios, but it's just a matter of time
No regrets at all, my second choice was a WS from Asus too. But I prefer this desgin.

Glad to help, if i only can...

mr-rob, can you do me a favour, and realy try to stable out max on Q6600. Then if you could post the voltages and settings, maybe some findings, what this motherboard likes or dislikes, what shoud i be careful about... Sry but i am not the expert in overclocking, so i would apreciate it if you could help a bit...

Another thing, what would be the bad temperatures for this motherboard? Despite waterblock on mine, it idles POWER 35°, NB 39°, SB 42°, Motherboard 33°. Load takes it average 2-3° higher, exept for POWER somewhere about 45°. In my oppinion this are still high temperatures... Oh and system is overclocked 9x412, all voltages are AUTO except Vcore and RAM. Can you guys post some temperatures of your motherboards...? Tnx in advance!

Guys, don't know what just happend. I updated the bios to 0802 from 0503.
I use Everest to monitor the temps.

    In 0503 my CPU was 36°-38°, but now in 0802 it's 20°. Double-checked in
    CoreTemp, also 20°. That's weird.

Oh and lost NB/SB temps in Everest with 0802

My Q6600 is actually in "lapping", I reach for now P2000, my goal is a P12000 .
I will do it with pleasure, but not now because I work on my 2nd mod (with MF1) and in the same time, I don't really finished my other mod (the one with MF2).
    My Q6600 is full stable @ 9x460 on MF1. Boot+Screen @ 9x470.
I run with it between 9x400/9x450.

->On MF2, this Q6600 seems to run better (specially with lower voltage for the same parameters).
    ->It also capable of running @ FSB510 (max 470 on MF1).
    ->It doesn't boot with STRAP 400.

My guess (hope...) is that the Q6600 will run higher with MF2.

I don't know what the Motherboard & POWER's temp' really means...
Your NB/SB's temp' look nice. But I just have 1° between NB & SB.
->The overheat protection on NB is set to 90°, so it's correct.
However, on a real NB WB (on my MF1), my NB's temp' is about 33° to 37°, even with a 9x450. So I think that just cooling the NB with the cooling system is not so bad.

Despite your given temp', you don't give the essential temp': The core's one...
->It's really important to give it.
    For example:

(lol, look at the NB's temp' without WB & with bad contact)

I think I'll test the "ALL MAX" in a week.

Check your preferences. I have nb and sb temps with 0802. I had to turn them on in preferences.

I use Everest too, and I never have NB/SB on it...
    (on MF1, I've got these)
Perhaps it's because the motherboard is not recognized...

Would anyone be so kind as to post some quick voltages used for a 500 FSB? I have an E8400 (8x multiplier) and have found the max Vcore needed for about 4.0-4.1ghz. I'm interested in knowing VTT, vNB, PLL. I'm starting at VTT=1.2, vNB=1.2, and PLL=1.5. Thanks!

My fans are only set @ 50%... And the ambiant temp' was +/-27°.

I don't really know for the POWER's temp'. Mosfets seem to be hotter than the temp' you gave.

i have mine a 4GHz (9x 445) and i have my CPU PLL on auto and looked at the voltage and it was 1.77 ... that seemed kinda high so i was trying to lower it and its not stable with anything lower ...
any other way to lower it down some?

My fans are always at minimum rpm possible ~600rpm :P i like peace and quiet. You are probably right when you say that mosfets are a lot hotter, who knows where the POWER sensor is located... and your temperatures of the NB seems pretty bad Put some air to it

510 max for now... It was at the beginning of my MF2's adventure .
And with Cas4 on my Mushkin . I think it was due to a lake of voltage on Vdram

Auto on CPU PLL give me the same...
1.62v (limite of green voltage) works normally...

My cooling system was "only" based with ONE X-Changer 360 ... With 6 SilentX iXtrema 120 push-pull. @50%, it's quite quiet.
As I can see, you've got 2 rad360 And my NB & 8800GTS arre WCed too...
(actually, my MF2 is on another case with 1 HWlabs GTS 360+6 Ultra Kaze@5v, with NB & GPU WCed)

My NB's temp' was @ the time when I wasn't WCed yet ... Now it's much better despite it's sumer time (ambiant temp' @ 32° )
