Nice! I'm waiting for some OC results on that 3820.
Maybe I'll change the 2600K for a X79 with a 3820 and a GTX670

Nice build, with two GTX680s that thing will fly. I'm struggling to figure out why you went X79 though as LGA2011 is more of a server than desktop platform

Nice, that is one hell'va upgrade. I assume it is a gaming rig with dual GTX680's
Vista? I would have opted for Win 7 HP 64-bit OEM for Newegg an extra $100.....
Personally, I am skipping X79 as I already have X58 and I suspect that it will be another single CPU platform like 1156 was.

Socket 1155 is a good choice right now. From what I've seen the new intel socket is going to be more like a downgrade - Socket 1150 or something I don't get intels logic on that one... my guess is they probably think the performance of Z77 1155 platforms is a little too good preventing as many sales of higher priced 2011 stuff.

True the cost of a 2011 costs wee a bit more but when I compared the parts to a 1155 set up I specked out vs the 2011 the 1155 was only $20 USD cheaper. Easy decision to go 2011. After playing with it for about a week now it was an obvious good call.

Oh and on the comment about upgrading to Windows 7, yes I considered it but I still had a valid license on my Visa so I figured why not use it? Besides, I still get direct X 11 with Vista! I'll pickup W7 eventually....

Win 7 is a lot faster than Vista with less bloat though.
Maybe by the time you get Win7 then Win8 will be out and you'll be behind again lol

True that brother! I never have been one to grab the newest OS when it comes out. I'll get Win 8 when the Win 9 beta is ready to roll out.
