I have owned a Q6600,Q6700,Q9450 and none of them impressed my overclocking wise but the absolute best of them was the Q6700. But if you have a choice of ANY of those cpu's I would get a QX9770

Why did you list every QX CPU which of course are going to lose and neglect to list the most logical choice of the Q6600?

In any case, voted Q6700 but wanted to vote Q6600.

q6600 imo. I cant stand the low multi in the cheap penryns. No mobo can untap their enormous potential due to FSB walls, and that bothers me alot. With that said, even tho the penryns have more OC potential, the q6600 will probably end up reaching higher frequencies while being less stressful to the mobos (lower FSB/voltages needed).

If by Q9950 you meant Q9550 then that's it.
It's only like $10 more than the Q9450 and that extra .5 multi will go a long way in your quest for 4ghz.

Pair it with Gigabyte EP45 UD3P. My Q9450 is at 4ghz stable and i can take it up to 4.2 for cpu math benching. but all i can think is "imagine what i could do with another 0.5 multi?>?"

OH and btw recent batch 65nm quads BLOW chunks

Voted for Q9450... I agree with above post, latest Q6600 batches are really not what we were used too...and even 3.4Ghz could be problematic...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I hate the Q6600 I've owned about 11 of them the older ones were nice but the newer ones with 1.325v VID are rediculouse to overclock, I say Q6700 or the Q9550
