I wrote that Asus P4P800 review. Want bigger picture?

    Here

Mod works just same way on P4C800. Just solder ~200Kohm variable resistor between CSCOMP(18) and CSSUM(17) pins. (I didn't solder mod right to the pins because I found better soldering points)

OK now... thanx..... but that's a picture of the P4P, right?

I'm searching for those "better soldering points" on the P4C... don't wanna mess with the pins on the regulator... guess I'll have to check that out myself....

I can post a piccy later this evening. And if you dont want to wait just use a multimeter and follow the traces from the pins to nearby SMD capacitor (around 28kohm will give idle=1.76, load=1.74V).

Probably a dumb question, but is there a mod similar to this one to stabilize CPU voltage on the NF7-S Rev 2.0?

The CPU voltage on mine is all over the place.
I've heard it all, I've seen it all, I've done it all. I just don't remember any of it.

It says Vddr because I wrote it that way.... it's like that back from the 8RDA+ days..... it's right - P4C doesn't display the Vddr in general

Macci, a pic would be really appreciated

    ...

I had decided to get the 4pca3+ until i read this thread...now i am gonna get a p4c800-e and do vdim mod and i guess the "droop" mod. Looks like the ladder of the mods would be pretty easy to solder, and the vdim can be done with smd grabbers...so i guess it isn't much more work that the 4pca3+ would have been.

Received an answer from Morkai, and I thank him very much for responding. Obviously, there are different soldering points for the P4P800. That 2nd wire that is obscured by the Intel HS bracket is soldered to the opposite leg of that partially exposed resistor. That should clear it up for anyone attempting to do it on the P4P800....
