    2.4C@3.7GHz - 1.44V on plain water...

DAMN..... that Malaysian 2.4C likes water very much.... too bad, that I got only PC2700 Memory and a Radeon7000 right now...

That all is made with the system in my signature except for the CPU ( another 2.4C ), memory and video.. and the cooling is a regular water cooling.....

Well not just regular.... but a fine made water block and all..... made in Bulgaria

I'm really going to push the sucker even more... damn.....

Well tomorrow I'm going to take it off and will write the code down

Still.... my own 2.4C won't do more than 3.5G under water.... and 3750 under the Vapochill..... too bad, that the insolation of the vapochill is really hurt ( because of the previos owners ) and I had to put it to rest for a week or two until I fix that....

Well.... no luck for 3.8GHz..... but I think that it's not the CPU... or that particlular CPU don't like more than 1.5V...

    I got the same lockup @Welcome Screen every time, either with 1.525V ( 1.44V under load ) or 1.7V ( 1.58V under load )..... I think it's the §§§§ty PC2700 TwinMOS/Samsung TCB3 memory....

Your 3.3v rail seems pretty low there.

man those P4Cs undervolt just insanely under load. Typical ASUS to make a great board and then give it a powersupply that cant handle anything at all to save 2$ on a board. they ought to take a lesson from ABIT and use some descent mosfets

JC, you're right about 100% right man..... it's just fooking stupid.... setting 1.7V in BIOS and watching the real value about 1.6V.... it drives me crasy.... but then again - it's a really great board..... 4PCA3+ sucks compared to it.... don't know about the IC7 - never had the pleasure testing one....

Amoeba, it's @3.7GHz with water cooling..... water running @room temps..... I got Vapochill, but got insulation problems.... but then again I wrote that in mu first post....

Grab a high power soldering iron, some tweezers, and replace them.

have you tried messing with the AGP/PCI speed, so your CPU doesn't lock up past 300?

I know this doesn't happen to everyone, but I have had problems passing 300 reliably, without changing the AGP/PCI speed past 300.
it's helped some people, maybe you too

locking on the welcome screen is the first sign of it for me.

I'm allready @72/36 for stability purposes when running 3D above 302MHz FSB..... I don't think, that 80/40 will help....

Tried also 1.7V/1.8V AGP VDDQ, doesn't seem to help... shame I can't rise the DDR voltage above 2.85V.... it's about modding time I guess...

10x anyway for the tip, Kunaak

Well the amount of voltage drop depends on how the 'droop mode' of the regulator is configured. Mine used to drop from 1.76 to 1.68V under load but now with adjusted Droop it stays at 1.76-1.74V all the time.
And as far as ASUS powersupply goes it seems to be one of the best if not the best out there. Atleast this mobo gives the highest CPU OC And seems to handle 5GHz too

Yeah, really nice... but the drop mod picture is really small.... not to mention, that P4P and P4C have different layouts.....
