That's kinda old and I don't think it can be counted as a review. Not comparing 9800GT to anything and stuff

the design of the card looks the same as my galaxy 8800gt. same 3 phase power. 2x6pin pcie. single sli. it's got the jumpers for the dual bios too it seems (at least I recall what those jumpers are for. on my galaxy, they're blanked)

same clock speed as my galaxy. why didn't they test it at proper speeds for the 9800gt?

So in other words....its identical to the 8800GT, but with the 8 crossed out and a 9 put in its place? Why not just get the 9800GT's BIOS and flash it onto your 8800GT for the 'extra feature'?

    Main Rig

    Intel Core i7-2600K (SLB8W, E0 Stepping) @ 4.6Ghz (4.6x100), Corsair H80i AIO Cooler
    MSI Z77A GD-65 Gaming (MS-7551), v25 BIOS
    Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-19200 Kit (HX24C11BRK2/16-OC) @ 1.5v, 11-13-13-30 Timings (1:8 Ratio)
    8GB MSI Radeon R9 390X (1080 Mhz Core, 6000 Mhz Memory)
NZXT H440 Case with NZXT Hue+ Installed
    24" Dell U2412HM (1920x1200, e-IPS panel)
    1 x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO (Boot & Install)
1 x 2Tb Hitachi 7K2000 in External Enclosure (Scratch Disk)

    Entertainment Setup

    Samsung Series 6 37" 1080p TV
Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H based media PC, Mini ITX Case, Blu-Ray Drive
    Netgear ReadyNAS104 w/4x2TB Toshiba DTACA200's for 5.8TB Volume size

Doesn't an 8800GT get more than that in 06? (not inciting anything, I'm not sure ... never played with one).

Is the 9800GT even a die shrink? Or another awesome "lets rename the 8 series to the 9 series and sell it again" cards?

    9800GT will have 65nm (G92) and 55nm (G92b) GPUs.
    Both supporting Hybrid Power.

Actually they've always done that. It's just that they have many more SKUs than ATI so they append some tags to the end to allow for room like that. Too many numbers don't look very neat either.

    Hmmm... GPU-Z... Everest...
I hope only initial cards will have 65nm GPUs.

Anyway, 9800GT must replace 8800GT with the same price.
