    Good Deal or Not!!

I just purchased a new OEM QX9770 w/ C0 stepping for $950 US… This seemed like a good deal IMO… Was that a good price or should I have purchased the C1 revision (This would have cost me approximately $300 US more)….

Has anyone been able to OC this CPU on the P5E3 Deluxe? If so – what voltages did you use (4Ghz & 4.2Ghz)…

    Thanks in advance…

I had one QX9770 on test here on P5K Dlx, Did 3.6Ghz@1.2Vcore and 4ghz at 1.31Vcore, benchable at 4.5Ghz at 1.52Vcore... keep that CPU cool and enjoy quadcore at 4ghz

C1 stepping ot me doesn't bring much more than a few bugs ironed out... some peeps claim it has got way better FSB Oc'ing and co, in my humble opinion (got results of 3 CPU's with C1 stepping) it does not, it topped out on 3 board near the same region as my good QX9650's (475ish level)...

If it is a good deal, that's a hard one as if it performs at 4ghz at 1.3Vcore : yes. If not you got an unlucky CPU (like my first retail Qx)...

Just remember keep Vcore below 1.4, CPU PLL below 1.6 and FSB Termination voltage below 1.4 too for daily use...and cool it well !! (no prob with ya EK kit)
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Thanks for the info... I'm hoping this CPU will hit 4ghz with a Vcore under 1.4... If not I'll sell it.... I hate spending this much money on something w/ no guarantees...lol... That’s life I guess...

What ever happened to try before you buy....
