The P5Q-DLX is really tempting me .. only thing about it is the completely retarded placement of the sata ports =/

    Ditto.
SATA connectors in 3 different directions, looks plain stupid.

If they would all be sideways I would already have ordered it. Having the ports horizontal and in the middle of the board is silly, sata cables dont bend that easy and I'd like them under my tray ... and NOT above half my motherboard before they even reach the tray.

No man, FSB and NB voltages is in the middle of yellow zone... So i waiting to outside T chill out, and push it to the maximum of yellow zone
So first looking of this mobo: she is not good to do overclock on quads??
450 fsb with middle of yellow zone voltage, and high voltage of the cpu, and not stable
Sorry if I made a precipitate comment!

Im looking at different MBs for an Intel quad build while the board looks beautiful and in my price range except the SATA placement, 1 thing has me puzzled (100% Japan-made Solid Capacitor) (5000 hrs VRM) per ASUS website duz this mean it will last less then 1 yr or 208.3 days at 24/7 use please tell me this is not correct.... hopes its the n00b factor kicking in or lack of sleep in my thinking?

Edit: contacted Asus tech (US) support and they was unsure what it was but trying to find an answer to the Question and will e-mail me something when he finds out he said best he could tell ATM was something to do with the power saving design on the 16Phase design the (board is due for release in the North america market in June/08)

In a 105°C environment yes it would only last a year... if your pc's interior temp is even close too that you win a mobo for free from Asus...

Got it up and running (on old P5K Dlx OS ): bios onboard is already 0506 will post some piccies later

Got some Mushkin Redlines PC8000 to test

    Blurry pic :

Loadline calibration set to 1.250 with Qx9650 :

    AUTO : 1.250Vcore in bios -- 1.216 in Idle (CPU-Z) -- 1.168 (CPU-Z) under Small FFT's
    DISABLED : 1.250Vcore in bios -- 1.216 in Idle (CPU-Z) -- 1.168 (CPU-Z) under Small FFT's
    ENABLED : 1.250Vcore in bios -- 1.240 in Idle (CPU-Z) -- 1.256 (CPU-Z) under Small FFT's

So AUTO is the same as DISABLED...

I have GeIL 2x2GB BD (Powerchip), and it work same as on BLITZ, 1100 CL5...
I used this memory for primeing this days, so you can see reasults on SS.
For memory OC for now RAMPAGE is best MoBo

Maybe with the new OCZ 9200 sticks? 1150 stock speed, they need a lot of tweaking to work at that speed on X38/X48 mobos. Some guys have them at 1200MHz, probably limited again by the mobo.

Maybe i will get me one of these too, but i hvae complaints about the pcie lanes.
To be more precisely, i will get me a new gfx card (ATI 4k or GTX 2X0) in the near future and i am running a pcie raid controller (pcie 8x).
So question is if the gfx will be limited by running at only pcie 8x ?
Atm i am using a DFI X38 LT with 45nm quad (fsb limit around 440 mhz ).
