hey guys..not the first quad 9450 here with these boards, but maybe the first showing on the vanilla P5Q? this is completely stable, happy with all temps i'm seeing etc. can't take credit for the settings. they came from the guy on page 18, post 443. razor somebody (sorry) anyway thanks and i'm loving it. more stable than my ip35 pro and cooler for sure. (whoops..sorry about no pics before)

Before I go out and pick up a P5Q Deluxe, can someone confirm if the MOSFET mounting is the same size as on the Asus Maximus Formula?

Judging by the compatibility list of the HR-09, it looks like it. I have EK blocks that I'd like to reuse.

I think that in this topic, someone said that the HR-09 Type 2 fits.

Only way to find out ram voltage is to use a digial multimeter, for ya PL question look for this in bios :

    AI Transaction Booster: AUTO
    Common Performance Level [12]

Where 12 is ya performance level ; to later manually plz set TB to Manual and set PL level yaself... (warning don't go to low as the system will NOT boot) mostly you can do 1-2 PL lower then AUTO setting

    @Iboomalot

Did you set affinity for each SuperPI ?

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Ive got a P5Q Deluxe coming on Tuesday. Do you guys think I can get the same memory performance from my PC6400 DDR2 Ballistix running at 1000Mhz 4:4:4:10 PL:7 on my current Gigabyte P35-DS4 board?

I think you will be close mate , but prolly top at PL 9 or so... at the moment P45 still is a tad slower, but hopefully some bios revisions further on we will be on par and have a higher FSB to play with... Hope the P5Q dlx will give ya some satisfaction... I haven't tested 500/1000 only 500/1200

setting affinity on the dual SuperPi helped some

core 0 small dips and the Core 1 a fewer dips but very deep down to 30% vs 85%

    didn't crash which is good

Yeah, I mentioned back on page three or four or somewhere around there that the type 2's lined up perfectly, no modification was necessary.

So after a whole day of memtesting, I figured out two of my sticks of RAM are bad. Oh well guess I'll RMA them tomorrow. But with the other two sticks in, I can run them at 400MHz and 425MHz 4-4-4-12-2T and they both pass memtest fine, but I cannot get the computer prime blend stable at 8x400 or at 8*425. VCore is 1.3, LLC enabled, VFSB is 1.28, VNB is 1.34, VDRAM is 2.1. Anyone have any idea why it doesnt want to be prime blend stable? Should I give it more voltage on the FSB or NB?

Try each stick seperately and use OCCT RAM test... I have found memtest prety crappy with 2GB sticks...
Secondly what VID is that Q9450 ? do you need 1.3 volts for 3.2Ghz ? seems pretty high to me as my old Q6600 did that at 1.25volts...
Thirdly you are on which bios now ?
Fourthly : did you add TRFC 55 ? Tried loosening the timings to 5-5-5-15 ?

I'm running those settings right now through OCCT as suggested. Should I run for 1 hour or 2? And you think I should try each stick individually in OCCT? I ran them each individually in memtest86+ earlier and found 2 sticks would always error at SPD @ 400MHz and the other two would not, so I'm running OCCT now with the 2 good sticks in @ setting above?

    EDIT: 0702 BIOS btw

I've done a few measurements with my DMM. RAM overvolts by ~0.08v, with 2.00v selected in BIOS I get 2.08v in idle and 2.09v under load.

vNB set to AUTO and 500FSB puts 1.36v through the NB at idle, 1.37v under load.

vcore with LLC disabled has a quite large vdroop, ~0.03v. With LLC enabled, under load the board overvolts by 0.008v

    BIOS 0702 BTW

I know for me that 110-115MHz causes the board not to boot using BIOS 0702. Whereas with my Maximus Formula I was able to boot and experienced no corruption with a PCIe frequency as high as 118MHz.

Yeah, I figured that the DRAM voltage overvolted the same as it did on the Maximus Formula which was 0.08-0.1V. Thanks for confirming.

OK so, I cannot test each stick individually with OCCT since it requires over 1GB of FREE ram, which with vista is not possible. With the two supposed good sticks in (4GB), it fails a 2h RAM test within minutes....but it will pass the 1h blend test fine. Windows continues to work fine without BSODs or restarts, wondering wth is going on here. The ram test failure was at 4-4-4-12 timings which I remind you are the SPD rated timings @2.1V for these corsair sticks. I put all 4 sticks in just to try and it also failed the ram test within minutes. What to do from here?

got this board today! just wondering if anyone has run into the problem of getting no video signal when more than 1 stick of ram is used?

i can only boot with 1 stick if i put two in, it doesn't work. i guess its a bios issue.

Drop Dram voltage to 2.0, set NB to 1.28 and set timings at 5-5-5-15 think we got a hard incompatability here with yet another set of Corsair ram
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
