    Question the ram most likely to do cas 2-2-2-5 at 240?

    my 2.8C is doing damn good and reaches 4 ghz like it was nothing, problem is, my Geil 4200 stops at 283 at the moment 1:1 and thats just under 4 ghz...

    my Kingston 3500 stops just shy od 233 at cas 2-2-3-5 (doesnt like ras to cas precharge 2) which kinda sucks cause at 5:3 I lose stability with it just past 4 ghz again.

    but the chip is great up to 4.1 ghz...

    so I need something that will do 240 cas 2-2-2-5, cause my current Kingston 3500 just isn't doing it, burning it in doesn't help anymore, as the ram is a year old now, and I don't think it's gonna get much better.
    I don't wanna buy more cas 3-4-4-8 ram, so 5:4 is what I am aiming at with 240 or so...

    if u want tight timings, then once again u need BH5 or even BH6 @ high volts (3.2+)

    my XMS3500C2 256 sticks can do 243 2-2-2-5 @ 3V stabily in my NF7-S 2.0 stock (no mods)

    yeah i got my 2x 512MB XMS3500C2 to around 240-245mhz 2-2-2-5 or 2-2-2-6 but needed the full 3.3v vdimm on 4PCA3+ to do that

    I agree. My XMS 3500C2 runs @ 230/2-2-2-5/2.9v 24/7 and has gotten thru a couple of benches @ 240 with no volt mods. Tried the vdimm mod on my NF7-S but I screwed it up and trashed the board so I don't know how far they will go... yet.

    Do a Vdimm mod. My HyperX works @ 248 2-5-2-2 with 3.25V, and was only @ 231 with 2.9V. HyperX+high Vdimm rules

    Wow. Nice Ram. Mine needs 3,18V to do that and higher volts make it worse

    @Kunaak

    Make sure it's an older rev when getting corsair3500 (1.1 I think). Otherwise I would prefer mushkin 3500 lvl2 if I could afford it

    @Alt-F13

    My older HyperX could only do 236 with those timings and voltage. It always depends on what sticks you get and if the two ain't equal in perf they mostly suck too. (my experiences)

    I have 3.38 volts available on my DDR, thats a new mod on my P4P, guess I will try that and hope it does better in that board.

    seems like corsair is the ram to try.

    what about Kingston 3000?

    Wow -- same mem goes only to 232FSB/2-3-3-6 @2.9v. Cranking the Vdimm all the way to 3.2v gets me nothing more; up to 233FSB and I get lots of errors in memtest.

    Yep my Hyperx can prime at 245fsb 2-5-2-2 @ 3.2vdimm, so my vote goes to HyperX 3500, but the first revision....not the current

    Next would be the xms3500 cos they still use BH5 100% guranteed

    I just got me a set of hyperx 3200 and it does 246mhz at 2-2-2-5 @ 3.1v... make sure though that you get ones with model # KHX3200/256 and not KHX3200A/256.... the one with the A is rated at 2-2-3....

    it's amazing how just switching from my MSI board, to this Asus P4P made such a difference in overclocking...

    wow, this kinda number was 100% completly impossible to touch with my MSI 875, it tops out at cas 2-3-3-5 at about 230 something...

    on the Asus P4P800 with a Vdimm mod, at only 3.1 volts...

    well, a picture says a thousand words they say

    I know that the new revisions of 3500 and 3200LL all are using ch-5, cause corsair's out of the older chips

    Seems my NF7-S is dying on my side, I've tryed 3 differents ram:
    - OCZ 3500 EL...even at 210MHZ, it produce error under winXP, even with relaxed timing like cas 2-3-3-9 (even with 2.8v)
    - 2*256MB XMS3500 v1.1..same, at 210mhz producing load of errors (whatever the voltage)
    - with 1 stick of XMS3500, 512MB one, I can reach 210Mhz at 2-2-2-6...bad luck with my mobo it seems, but I agree that the XMS3500 in v1.1 are very likely to reach 240mhz with lot of juice to feed them. ...Sigh

    Serious?

    Hmmm cos I was under the impression that all xms3500 was Rev 1.1 and that was all BH5

    Maybe im wrong :thumbsup:
