For BOINC milestones, I use a slightly different formula. I will acknowledge every million points a member has added to their total. That's because getting a million BOINC points is a lot harder than getting a million WCG points.

One year of processing time is one year of time on any cpu. An Atom CPU with get the same time as an overclocked 2600k per thread, it has nothing to do with the actual performance of the computer - that is supposed to be signified in the points.

As for how much power XS has? Well 11 dual socket hex cores @ ~3Ghz get roughtly 600K PPD WCG when not disturbed. As XS has been doing 14-15 Million ppd, that's about 25x that - so 275 dual socket hex rigs or 3300 high end cores at 3Ghz or almost exactly 1/3 of this supercomputer. (Those are the cores I used for reference in the calucation above)

Someone feel free to correct me if I made a mistake with the calculations... Please keep in mind the cores I used were X56xx - so quite a high end core.

275 dual socket hex rigs looks a little high when comparing it to 2600K's. My 2600K is doing about 6K PPD Boinc = 42000 PPD WCG.
For the 14 million PPD that XS is doing you would need 333 2600K's @ 4.5 Ghz. Now, that would be a nice farm. And plenty of heat to warm your house (and that of the neigbors ) It would be pulling about 60 Kw.

If you just took the straight X56xx's it comes out to 44KW of power... and those dual socket rigs are about the most energy efficient things on the market!
