    Trial: Patriot Viper (2 x 1GB) 1150 (PC2 9200)

Falling victim to the Egg's $39 (after MIR) lure, I ordered these Viper sticks:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220283

    Rated 1150 MHz running 5-5-5-12 @ 2.3v....sounds good...but
    2.3v won't get you to 1050 MHz. I couldn't reach 1150 with 2.4v and 5-5-5-15.

Oh well, the Egg was good enough to take them back without restocking/shipping fees...provided I buy some new Dominators (6400 C3DF). Bet those make it to 1150 MHz.

UM yeah - I don' think you will get over 1080~ had that board and it was piss poor for memory OCing - I too had the 1150 patriots and 1200 axerams and some 6400 HZ good for >1200 so if you want a good RAM OC board look no futher (or harder LOL) than FOXCONN MARS (for P35)

I have tried out about 6 different boards in the past year and the MARS board was by far the best P35 and Intel board I had/have owned

Um....maybe you didn't see the sig. below?

My Team and my 6400C3 Dominators will do 1200 MHz, but I'm limited by E8400 stability above 3.8 GHz and I'm strapped by the divider at 1:1.25 and if I go to 1:1.5 it jumps to 1260 (which won't boot).

yeah... about that it says nothing about that board running memory that high... ask around (like Intel section and IP-35PRO thread) I trust if you play around with it to give you 1150 or 1200 for mem you will not have success - (board limiting)... if you want memory clocking from that gen of boards IDK what to tell you... maybe loo at some P45s (DDR2) and pick up a BIOSTAR TP45 HP for some fun

I wouldn't sweat it much I've got 3 high end p45 boards (All Gigabyte ep45-dq6, ep45-Extreme, ep45t-extreme) and have yet to get the Patriot Viper ddr2 1150 to run right on any one of the three.

Patriot suggests running it at 2.1 - 2.15 on the P45. Me I think it'll run better attached to my trash can.

I tried for 6 hours to run them at between 1.8 and 2.5v rated timings, loosened timings, 800 - 1200 so far I've got some really killer paper weights.
