    both are the same price.

This will be used with vista 64 if that helps.

Recommendations are also welcomed if a different one would be better.

I'm using the Auzen Xplosion on Vista Ulti. x64, zero problems, great sound for the price.

Auzentech Xplosion on XP 32bit with Beresford TC-7510 DAC. Best sound drivers I've dealt with. Great if you need optical out. Also has removable opamp sockets if you are into that stuff.

If you intend to use it for gaming, then i'd still recommend you X-Fi XM or XG. Otherwise ASUS Xonar. X-Plosion is kinda outdated already...

The X-Plosion is alright but as Rej pointed out is fairly old now and there are better cards for the same amount of money that sound better. The Xonar DX is a prime example....

Truth. I's not best for gaming. But only thing I play these days is CS:S. If you really care about those last 10 FPS and hearing your enemy front every corner, pay more.

Prelude 7.1 Dual Boot with 32bit WinXP
If you don't Game, Xonar is fine.
There's ZERO reason to buy the XPlosion IMHO=P But that's just me
I'm using an Creative X-Fi in Vista 64 with Zero Problems.
Strictly for Games, still, the Xtreme Gamer is the best bang for the buck. No matter what's said, it NOT crap for music playback Not the best, but not crap at all, some folks have decent Receiver and Pre/AMPs and not just dinky computer speakers.

For that we should thank BOTH (AMD and Intel) companies!
