    when are the 'real' mobile quads coming?

    as per title folks - & I aint talking the about the lappies running around now-a-days with the desktop part in 'em..

    I'd expect it to be a $1100 cpu, so yes very pricey. Heat will be high enough that this won't go in anything but the highest end DTR notebooks.

    Maybe you'll be looking at a 2.8 dual core then?

    yeah.. i've been looking around.. the t9300 (?) catches my eye (2.5ghz, 6mb cache 800fsb)..

    yeah and you get a 5 minute battery life fyi. You might as well tote around your desktop along with a ups in a back pack.

    Well a 3.06 dual or 2.53 (maybe 2.66 if we are lucky) quad are your choices in the extreme category. 2.8 will be the next down from extreme and that should be fine

    It will probably still be a few years before id want a quad in my laptop. Nothing that supports quads that i would be doing on my laptop anyways.

    well i think lots of media designers and video editors would be benefited becoz they always have to be moving around.. and their edit stations need to be powerful.. (read: ME) lols
