Motherboard for Q9450: P35 or X38?
Hey all,
Currently I have a E8400 running on a P5K-E Wifi/AP, but recently received my Q9450, and wanted to get the best out of it :P
I wanted to ask all you experts out there to recommend me a motherboard for the Q9450, but was wondering if I should stick with my current P5K-E Wifi or if I should swap my mobo for a X38 based..
BTW, I wanted to keep on using DDR2 for now.
Budget is around $200 +/- 20.
Thanks in advance!

Well, how high can you run it on your current board? I have a DFI LT P35-T2R that I run my X3360 @ 8.5x400=3.40 GHz which is plenty fast for me. I've had it running 8.5x450=3.83 GHz, but haven't bothered spending the time to minimize the vcores.
How fast can you run it on your current board?
How fast do you want to run it?
If you can't run it that fast on your current board, what is limiting it (i.e. cooling, vcore, etc)?
Remember never exceed a VTT of 1.40V with a 45nm quad.

Try X48 you can switch with DFI LT DK X48 T2RS...
