Granted it doesn't really matter but this was by far the worst DFI manual I've ever read before, nothing at all about BIOS setup or settings? It does however do a great job of having different launguages, lol! Well after a long night I got Windows loaded finally, after getting the genaral BIOS settings sorted. Unfortunately I had to go to bed for work today but I've got a few hours tonight to play around. I'm currently using BIOS version 05/21 (probably most are using this BIOS) and it seems to be fine, although I do have one major issues that I haven't spent much time on but I will tonight. Once I got the BIOS setup (except for Genie settings) I tried manually setting my DRAM timings (just the main 4, tCL, tRCD, tRP, and tRAS to 7-7-7) and upped the DRAM voltage from 1.5v to 1.9v but it wouldn't boot, just got an odd "01" error code. The only way to get around this was to manually clear CMOS and start over. At this point I've been unable to change DRAM timings with any success, even thought the DIMMS are only clocked at 1333Mhz? Has anyone experienced this problem so far?

Now that I'm home from work I'm gonna give it another go, and I'll have more time to do it but any suggestions would be greatly apprecaited!

Clunk - Thank you very much for posting Voltage Measuring Points, what a huge help! I didn't think that Smart Guardian was all that accurate, lol! Thanks again guys for all the postings, I also hope that others pick this board up as I think it will be a pretty decent mothreboards once things get sorted a bit.

I haven't played with the timings yet, but I will get to it over the weekend.

This is as far as I've got, but I have some 2000Mhz OCZ sticks as well

Thanks Clunk, I'll post back soon once I've given this some proper time. I should have done that first instead of posting before knowing what the problem was!

Haven't had time to play much. OCZ 2x2GB 1333 ReaperX at 1600. Don't think the board can hold these timings at 1N with 2GB sticks but gonna give it a shot.

There is a thread about this mobo at ocxtreme.org.

    http://ocxtreme.org/forumenus/showthread.php?t=3306

OPB post some SS for bios settings.

    http://ocxtreme.org/forumenus/showpo...0&postcount=55

So far I didn't see any SS for CL7 running, and others report problems to run memory @ CL7.

It's because new beta bios solves some issues. Now sticks that had C1 error can boot and work (previously no boot at all) and RAM oc with CL7 is much better now. There are still issues with RAM dividers but hopefully they will be fixed

I don't know when that bios will be publicly available though

Guys thanks for all the posted information, much appreciated! With that said what BIOS are you guys currently running, I ask because I've only been able to find access to the 2x BIOS files at DFI's website.

E8400, OCZ ReaperX 1333MHz 2x2GB memory. CPU-Z does not report the correct memory speed using this divider.

Yep been like that a while I'm using 2:3 divider on the most 500+ fsb shots , probably the most stable & best diider on my GA-X48T-DQ6.

I'm only using cpu-z for verification, using everest cpuid instead which reports correctly

We definitely need some software updates. When manually pulling in tRD phases, Memset misreports the performance level. Everest show the value correctly though.

Yep guess that's what we get for living on the edge , but it is a bit sloppy on the software side seeing as x48 has beemn out a while now really

Managed this one so far OCCT/WPrime stable .

    488x9.5 @ 1.53v - 4561Mhz CPU - 1952Mhz RAM @ 1.82v - 9-9-9-24 - 1:2

The rest of the results are here.

Nice. Which BIOS are you using. With the posted beta I've found what looks to be good 24/7 settings. E8400, 8x500 FSB with 2x2GB Reaper/1333 at 1666, 7-6-6-20 1T. Hope to have my usual screenies up by the weekend.

I'm using the 06/09 official beta, I figured it would be more relevant for the review to use a BIOS that everyone can get hold of.

I will try the TTTT, but after I've done the testing

I'll look forward to the screenies then

Same BIOS I'm using. And I agree about the importance of the BIOS being available. That's the reason I haven't posted many results. Doesn't matter how good the board is if the BIOS being used isn't available to everyone. So far, the 06/09 seems better then either the TTTT or the 6T. And at least with 2x2GB sticks the yellow slots also seem preferable.

    This board kicks ass
Anybody looking for a x48 with DDR 3 should go for a P5E3 Premium or this one.

The yellow slots seem to be working better on the 2x1GB OCZ sticks also, but only by a small amount - 2-4FSB I haven't tried for tighter timings yet, will get to that tonight hopefully.

Think Gigabyte X48T DQ6 is also a great performer as well, as Ace-a-Rue & I both found. Link to Aces's thread here is in my sig.

Model 3 I would guess? And whats up with PL=8 for channel A and PL=9 for B?

BTW, why is there no TREF in bios? It should default to 16383

Oskar is tweaking away for bios improvements apparently

as to channel A/B with different PL that's a tweak by adjusting the phases of each channel individually in bios http://i4memory.com/reviewimages/mot..._16_large.html

yeah difference between tREF 6240 vs 16383T is <1-1.5s in super pi 32M but shaves ~0.2ns of everest memory latency heh
