finished the first evap of this small run!

first ill show my new rotary table... a 6" one with a 5" 3 jaw self centering chuck.

makes setting up SO much easier...

theres the copper i ordered. 1.5" diameter, 24" long. keep in mind this is with 4" cut off of that bar... its huge!

    finished the top

There ya go. need to make the backplate and tap the holes for the screws but overall im very pleased with how this came out.

thanks guys! appreciate the nice feedback, makes this so much more rewarding

Jin was kind enough last to night to take off time from work and we had a fun chat for probably 1-2 hours. He gave a couple pointers. also i think i will be sandblasting these in future...

btw andrew: luckily i got the x3 it takes up maybe 2-3 inches which i don't really need while i use the table... btw i was talking with josh(admin from ozcw) about him gettin a x2... omfg! they are so expensive over there! my x3 is maybe 100-200 pounds more then you guys pay for x2 :O

one_servant: thank you very very much! ive been working hard on design and spending a bit of time in a machining forum. unfortunately im no thermodynamics guru and teaching myself has proved near impossible.

i have some plans which should be interesting in the coming weeks...

Looking good. Are these thicker then your 1st one? I don't think the top needs to be so thick.

    buckeye: lol!

2long4u: thanks! no these are thinner... the one above is .45" and the top part is about .2" tall.

There is what i made today. its TINY! its .35" base, and i think .125 tall or so. what makes the tops thicker then they really need to be is the lip for fitting on the evap for easier brazing, and the lip for the snapring. The design in this, think of a bunch of C's, but flips direction and gets smaller towards core...

    sorry im in a rush.

The mount won't sit well on that, the snap ring needs to leave a lip for the mount to catch on.
