Rice, rice, baby - Japanese cars are more fun drive.

What makes a car great? Performance? Reliability? Sheer power? Handling?

Probably all of the above. But what makes a car fun to drive?

For me it's a high redline, narrow gear spacing and smooth, clean acceleration. The sound of the exhaust system is also important. You want it say 'get TF outta my way gramma'.

So do the Japanese cars satisfy these requirements more than anyone else?

Where's the Euro option? I voted anyway.
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

Probably didn't bother because an unbiased car person is extremely rare.

Sorry guys. I was going to put in a line for super cars like Ferrari, but forgot. Tried to update the poll, but doesn't look like I can do that unless i delete the thread.

This is a bit different though - when saying you would "rather have a Chevy, Cadillac, Ford" etc we are talking about an every day car to drive. When talking about Ferraris, that's a toy that's not even in the same category. You buy one of those for your own leisure.

Absolutely, for fun to drive and reliability. The K20 motor in my 06 Si doesnt need a tune up for 100K miles , and I rev to 8200 all day with no worries. For 2 wheels my weapon of choice is Suzuki, great and reliable motorcycles.

Wow that's some engine there. Those Japanese sure knows how to crank it up. Now I just feel bad looking at muscle car's big engine philosophy.

All systems sold. Will be back after Sandy Bridge!

True, I was wrong about that. Honda had left F1 racing and came back in the 80's I believe, but recently they have had the best engines. I stand corrected.

I wouldn't say best, but among the most reliable.
