Its not "crap" news. I would rather call it, "news that everyone knew about for a while and now that its announced none is really paying much attention to it", but then that's just me. From previous topics about XP i would have expected bigger response from those that are still using it. So far its only been us three so you never know people might have finally realised that XP is dead and Microsoft is not going to bring it back no matter how many posts you make in forums that Bill Gates never visits.

    You mean this:

An airplane crew takes ill. Surely the only person capable of landing the plane is an ex-pilot afraid to fly. But don't call him Shirley

but in regards to the article,

    this is horse ****,,,

MS is once again forcing users to take on the extremely poor Windows Vista.
they allowed OEM makers to sell XP Home becuase people were so unhappy with Vista and continue to be.

Vista is Windows ME on Steroids... period., MS knows it but wont admit it, so just force people to use it so they can come back a year from now and claim how large of an install base there is.

i poop on Ms for pulling this garbage

Airplane rocked, almost everyone I know would have gotten that joke immediately. Anyway, we can still use XP on our machines as long as we want right?

I dont understand Vista hate anymore really, sure it was rough at first but now after SP1 and with good Nvidia drivers coming out I like it much better than XP honestly. I have a dual boot and I haven't booted back into XP in over a month, that's got to mean something. Vista is in much better shape than XP was at this point in its life.

Linux on ULPC being marketed to the masses is one of the coolest developments I've seen in computing lately. MS is a little late on this one. lol

I disagree. Vista>>>>ME. ME was an absolute, horrid, unstable disaster. Vista is not. Sure it isn't as popular as XP but it sure isn't ME. I've used it and am considering buying it at some point maybe in the next 6 months. And believe me I don't buy an OS that isn't going to be stable or worthwhile!

Did anyone look at the system requirements?

    * HDDs can be no larger than 80GB.
    * The screen size for the ULPCs can be no larger than 10.2".
    * Installed memory can be no greater than 1GB.
    * Processors must use a single core and can be no faster than 1GHz. Processors which are severely handicapped by low-clock speeds (a la the VIA C7-M and Intel Atom) are excluded from this restriction.
The only thing I have that would qualify is an old smart phone, and I'm not even sure about that.

Sub text for those that didn't notice.
Microsoft will continue to support XP until a time that which it is no longer profitable
