Due to the chipset? X48 is a further step from X38, and I'm running up to 550 FSB with WOLFDALE on X38......... - so where is the improvement in developing X48........

    We all like "it" tight

Massman is right here. This motherboard is tuned for quad core and really tight mem and chipset latencies.

It is really easy to run this board at 266 strap and PL5 (6-6-5-14 / 7-6-5-14 / 7-6-6-15).

I will test Wolfdale (E8500) today. Yesterday I found time to throw it in and test it 10 minutes. 500fsb was just fine.
You are as good as your samples are!

P965 is even older than your X35, my dfi P35 uses an older chipset ... where is the improvement?

That's right! Not every new technology beats the older tech on every level!

Blackops is a board with optimal performance per clock, maybe not the best clocking for the fsb hungry Wolfdales, for that task I think the Foxconn Dreadnought will be a better choice.

    Aegis Panel

Here is the overclocking and HW monitoring tool for BlackOPS.

    It's called Aegis Panel

It is working in real time, so no need to restart or anything stupid, like in some similar programs.

Question, I am confused as to what Remcokatz said about this board not being very good with graphics cards.

I have never heard of this before, but is there some issue with this board as far as gaming goes? While I am an enthusiast overclocker, this board will work just fine for gaming, am I right in that assumption?
    CPU: Intel QX9650 Engineering Sample
    GFX: Palit 4870 @ 790/ 1100
    RAM: 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 PC1600
    MB: GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-DS3R
    HDD: 2x Western Digital 500GB
    PSU: ABS 700 Watt
    Screen: Samsung 22" Widescreen
    Cooling: Thermochill PA120.2

    All cooled by Danger Den!

I have had no issues with it with 2 cards in Crossfire. I tried 3 cards in CrossfireX but one of my cards was bad (not fault to board).

As for the guys ing back and forth take it to PMs and emails. This is ridiculous. Not needed here learn some manners.

Those vga issues were present in early bios versions. Now they have fixed those issues.

Here is one screenshot. This retail board is better with memory than my previous ES.

Now I can use 6-5-5-14 1T timings up to 900MHz. This is not 32M stable but 3D is ok Strap is 333. Next i do some 266 and PL5 tests.

Here is basic watercooled 3DMark06 CPU test. This is what everybody can do with quad core cpu.

    Efficiency is quite good.

    More Xtreme results tomorrow hopefully.

Hey, this is thé board if you want to kill your memory apparently. Foxconn didn't want to give the user the option for 4,5v on the memory though.

Sham, if you're reading this: what's up with the other memory dividers that are hidden in the bios? Are they not working stable enough?

Asus P5E64 WS Evo was also listed on Asus website more than a month ago, even listed at retailers, and it became really available a few days ago.

Bios G20 is a MUST.....I haven't seen my CellShock Rams doing 2000MHz with Cas 7-6-5-15-1T since......I got them.....
They have been damaged a bit since then and on any mobo they did with the above timmings ~ 1950MHz.....Now I BOOT at 500MHz FSB with a "crappy" E8400 and Rams at 2000MHz and get into windows.....

ALSO with bios G20 I gained ~ 15 - 20MHz MORE on a QUAD (445MHz fsb from 427MHz before) with rams working at 1:4 266 AND Cas 7-5-5-5-13-6-43-5-13-14-2-8-2-2-1T..... Bandwidth is EXELANT.....

I've never head the sound quality that comes out of those bundled PCI-E x1 Sounds cards. They any good, compared to a X-Fi Fatal1ty perhaps?

Very nice results on 3DMark also.

    My Specs: Intel e8400 - GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P - G.SKILL 4GB DDR2 1000 - VisionTek Radeon HD 4850 512MB w/ Scythe "MUSASHI" VGA Cooler - Seagate 500GB 7200RPM HDD - Cooler Master CM690.

After they got damaged with 2.43Vdimm, I have NEVER feed them again over 2.32Vdimm.....They used to do 7-6-5-15-1T and tight subtimings up to 2070MHz when they were young….
My day/bench usage is 2.28Vdimm and in rare occasions I feed them 2.32Volts MAX....

off topic: would you mind guys telling me why many of you seem to favor CellShock ram? Anything special? That's a serious question, I'm interested, and never heard of Cellshock before I registered to this forum. thanks.
